Booked in for river tubing (the one for softies) but it was too wet and wild, so got shifted on to ghyll scrambling instead. Wow, what an experience!
It was terrifying, exhilarating, stupid and funny as heck. Three guides to 5 of us on a hen do, and they were all incredible - encouraging, gave us tough love where needed, but most of all we felt safe in the daft things they were getting us to do. Like dive through a gap into some very fast moving water! We trusted these guys big time, and were rewarded with the BEST experience - in the words of the bride to be "this is one of the best things I think I've ever done." Thanks Keswick Extreme.

We called for a last minute booking whilst we were on a staycation in Carlisle, they were more than accommodating and we went with Ghyll scrambling. Our guide was Adam and we honestly had so much fun. Adam definitely made the entire experience more enjoyable, he was very clear with his instructions for our safety and had a good laugh with everyone who was there, which made the atmosphere enjoyable

Everyone in our group would definitely recommend Keswick extreme for any adventure you’re looking for !!

Tried the ghyll scrambling and loved it! We were booked to do lazy tubing but this was cancelled due to lack of rain, yes believe me that does actually happen in the Lake District!
Ghyll scrambling was on my to do list anyway. It was great fun, all equipment provided and our two leaders Hollie and Chubbs (I think! ) were excellent. Funny, reassuring and encouraging.
I was worried I would be cold, but the wetsuits worked well.
I’m definitely up for the extreme version next time. My advice is, just do it!

My 3rd trip out Ghyll Scrambling with Keswick Extreme over the last 10 years. Whether with a friend, children or my partner these guys (Sean, Rick and the crazy canine) have been amazing. Great balance of banter and fun whilst also ensuring safety remains a priority and easing nerves where needed. Ghyll Extreme was on offer this time and was great way to spend the afternoon, with additional high jumps and ropes! Great fun for all - 100% recommend, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic afternoon spent with my family me and my husband and our 3 kids ( 16,13,11) . Having experienced ghyll scrambling twice before with this same company and thoroughly enjoyed it , we decided to try another activity. We opted for lazy tubing , and so glad we did . After getting kitted out with wetsuits, buoyancy aids , helmets and the tube the fun began . From paddling across Derwentwater, and lazily drifting down the river , to paddling faster currents and games added in too . We would highly recommend this activity, it’s suitable for all and was such good fun. We can’t wait to do it again !!

Amazing afternoon ghyll scrambling - lead was great, encouraged everyone and didn’t push anyone to do anything they were uncomfortable with. Keswick extreme were really accommodating with our booking as we had to change last minute and they helped us with no fuss. Look forward to doing more activities with them in the future

Great family fun - we laughed from start to finish. Paddle across the lake, down the river and weir with fun challenges. Our instructor, Scotty, was very funny and great with my youngest who just needed a confidence boost at times. Takes lots of photos which are then posted on Facebook for you to see. We all said we would love to do it again.

Me and my daughter went on the Ghyll adventure. Our guide Adam was brilliant. Worked our way down a fast flowing stream with a few leap of faith jumps. While the water was cold you never felt cold because of the gear and the adrenaline.

Had an absolute ball Ghyll scrambling with these guys on Sunday.
We are local to the area but it’s something we haven’t done before as a family!!
Booking was really simple via the website but I actually gave them a ring and asked a few questions! Well a lot of questions to be honest 🙄
We kept it a surprise from the kids! So just parked in the car park and walked down to them.
After intros they quickly picked out wet suits and socks for us. The kids got two wet suits as well as an overhead jacket and life jacket with socks and adults one an over jacket and life jacket. As well as helmets!!
I took a go pro and they have helmets to fit them on so ask..... he even set it up for me!
You then follow in your own cars to the area (due to Covid....they usually minibus you up). it was only a ten min drive!

It’s a ten minutes walk before you get into the water!

Any way it was the most fun I have had in ages, Jason and Chubbs were amazing!! Big shout out to Chubbs who spent a lot of time with my 8 yr old LG who was crying to start with!!! By the end of it she was giggling and had so much confidence!! That wouldn’t of happened without his help and encouragement!!

It’s well worth the money and something my kids will always remember! We have booked to go tubing this week!! As well as looking at doing the an other Ghyll scrambling (the £50 one) in the future!!

These guys offer gift cards so ideal for Xmas/bday presents

Get it booked!! You won’t regret it

Also they take pics all the way which they upload on FB - a fab way to remember your day!
