I joined Prudhoe golf club at the ripe age of 68 as a beginner in 2015. At the beginning I had a few lessons from the professional, John Crawford, which helped me get to grips with the rudiments of the game. I was invited by David Smith to join the Vets section for a small annual fee. From day one I was made to feel welcome and despite my evident inadequacies at the game playing with a handicap of 28 which in reality was probably much higher the experienced golfers have given me encouragement and advice throughout the past two years. There has never been a shred of arrogance from the low handicappers, in fact quite the opposite as they have offered tomes of wisdom in my attempt to improve. I thank them all and I recommend any prospective golfers even at a senior age to give Prudhoe golf club a try. You won't regret it.
The course is beautifully maintained by the excellent ground staff despite all sorts of weather.
Since the beginning of November 2017 the club has a new caterer, Kerry, and the food served is truly home cooking at its best and at reasonable prices too. Add in the friendly bar staff Margaret and Susan and you will have an exceptional golf experience even on the 19th hole!

Food served all day so really handy as its on the doorstep. Sunday lunch is the best I've had by far. Garlic mushroom starter is amazing followed by the beef dinner. Great value for money and great service. Separate room for dining which has a nice warm cozy feel.

Course is a fair challenge with score to be made on front nine and hold on coming home - greens were superb ( October 2020) and even though recent weather very wet fairways good and tees good. Friendly bar well set up for covid etc

Had a lovely good priced Sunday lunch , we have now booked for Xmas day lunch , was home cooked dinner , only thing but not major , pouring cream with gateau instead of squirty would of been nice , friendly staff

Called here today after hearing great reviews about their Sunday dinners so thought we would see for ourselves and we were not disappointed. Wifey had the chicken dinner which was lush and I opted for the mince and dumplings and I must say this was by far on par with me mams. One if the best mince and dumplings I've ever had. Fantastic prices too. This is a must place to call. It's like a little taste of home. We liked it that much we've booked for Christmas dinner and looking forward to it but I do think we will be calling a few more times before then.

Had lunch for the first, but hopefully not last, time at the club. Couldn't fault anything. The Garlic Mushroom starters were just as we like them, with a beautiful creamy sauce. The Roast Lamb was tender & the Chicken Breast was of Dolly Parton proportions.Hardly had room for sweet, but forced ourselves. The Banana Split didn't disappoint & the Apple Strudel, with a choice of cream, ice cream & custard was lovely.Great food, excellent service and nice surroundings. Sam & her team did an incredible job looking after us and all three courses were excellent.

I must say up front that I've been a member of the Club for many years. However, it's been a long time since I've had Sunday lunch here. Today, a couple of friends of mine from South Shields came over for a visit & I thought we'd give it a try.
My friends had, like me, only planned to have 2 courses. However, they started with the generous & well cooked garlic mushrooms, followed by a succulent lamb main course with all the trimmings.
I'd started with a main course of a giant moist chicken breast, again with all the trimmings & then ordered a sweet of apple strudel & custard. That was enough to persuade my friends to join me. One had the strudel & the other had a banana split big enough for all three of us.
The cost of this sumptuous feast - a touch under £27. How's that for value!!
Service was professional & friendly throughout & the dining room is extremely well presented & comfortable...as is the whole clubhouse. Well done to Sam Gosling & her team. My friends scored the whole experience 10/10.
You don't have to be a member to enjoy Sunday lunch but you could join as a Social member for only £6/£12 a year. You'll get that back in a few weeks due to the special bar prices for members & great value for money food.
Of course, if you play golf (or want to) there's a huge range of membership options for that too including pay as you play. Then you'll be able to play at one of the best courses in the North East.

This must be one of the best courses in the North East, in fantastic condition for the time of year November 16th, fairways and greens excellent, interesting layout, and very hospitable. Even I can reach some of the greens in regulation, and I'm 70 !. Food now under new management , and super value for money. Specials are great . Well done to all the staff. Club pro , very welcoming, thanks John.

We decided to visit Prudhoe Golf Club for Sunday lunch last weekend after hearing from people how good the food is after the new Catering Manager Sam has taken over the operation.
Firstly you have options of one two or three courses we had the two course option at £7.95. Staff are friendly and attentive food was delicious we both had the beef with plenty of veg,, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, folloed by warmed chocolate fudge cake and ice cream.
Well done Sam great food we will be back
