On arrival I went to reception to pay and was tutted at when I asked for a swim for 2 children and myself. The young girl then said in a stroppy tone you will only have 50 minutes now I said that was fine as we had travelled a long way. I did tell the young lad that served us i had rang and was told it was open until 6.30 and could come anytime as he was complaining about the man in front of me to the young girl as I was paying who paid him and his son in to swim. The attitude of these 2 on reception was hurrendous. When we got into the pool it was lovely plenty for the kids including the slidewaves and inflatable we all loved it the lifeguards seemed abit useless apart from 1 dark hair you glad who was brilliant. I visited today which is the 21st therefore the manager will know what staff were working. I really feel this is an amazing place and your staff are letting it down.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry to hear your welcome to the centre was not the best. We will be sure to pass your comments onto the General Manager of the centre so that they can address. Hopefully we can welcome you back to the centre again soon, so that we have the opportunity to improve your feedback. Kind regards, Active Northumberland

I wouldn't return, the place is pretty run down in comparison to other Activ Northumberland/Places Leisure centre facilities. Changing area was dirty and since you have to remove footwear before entering it felt unhygienic, particularly when changing in the tiny rooms. Pool temperature wasn't very warm and they close the slide periodically so they can turn on the waves. During our 1 hour swimming session, the waves were only on once and the slide was open once, so my kids only got to go down it 2 times each. We arrived a few minutes late for our session as I tried ringing for 2 days to rearrange the booking but the phone lines were busy for 30+ minutes each time before I gave up and hung up. Upon arrival, we asked if the cafe would be still open after swimming and were told yes however it was closed by time we got out the pool. Cafe staff were somewhat rude when we queried. We travelled approx 40 minutes to get there and it wasn't worth it to be honest. Pool area needs renovated.

So disappointed, I normally read reviews and chose to ignore the bad ones thinking some people moan about everything, but oh they were definitely right. Pool was absolutely freezing, my daughter's hands and lips turned purple. Coldest pool I've ever been in, the changing rooms were filthy mud all over the floor, worst pool experience I've had.

Pool was freezing cold and the person announcing the waves over the microphone is not loud enough in such a busy pool. I found it difficult getting my baby out safely in his inflatable ring. For those hard of hearing, prehaps a loud alarm and a red light to announce the waves would be better. My baby usually loves to swim but cried and shivered most of the time due to how cold the water was. Changing rooms were dirty with mud, talc powder, baby vomit amongst other things. I would not consider returning until the place improves.

The pool isn’t very deep, pool staff are miserable
You have to take a shower in front of everyone in the pool, there’s nothing to sit on so you can dry yourself in the changing rooms and there was rubbish all over the changing area. No hair dryers are even in use/working order. Water is cold in pool also

Absolutely shocking. For a parent of a young family when going swimming, you want to feel reassured that should something go wrong, you’ll be safe at the swimming baths. At Prudhoe Waterworld you most certainly are not.

Not only did no ‘lifeguards’ not notice my daughter was drowning, they then didn’t even hear us shouting for help!! Throw in the fact that the ‘first aiders’ then didn’t advise us correctly and we had to go to the walk in centre, this was a truly horrible moment.

Keep your children safe and go somewhere else.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm having checked the 'Waterworld' website which stated opening hours 8am-6pm. When we arrived were told the pool actually shuts at 4pm, the 6pm time was for the centre itself. The lady showed me on the website which is not easy to navigate that you need to check the swimming timetable but this just looks as though it tells you the time of the inflatable sessions. It is not clear at all and very misleading. At least 3 other families arrived after us also thinking the pool was open until 6pm so clearly an issue. One little girl was in tears. Please make it clear on the website that the swimming times are different to the centre opening times as the name Waterworld suggests it is the pool.

I visited the pool today with my 7yr old son and 12yr old niece. Both kids loved the activities on offer, especially the waves and slide. Plenty of toys, balls etc out for the younger children, jacuzzi was really warm and plenty of lifeguards on duty.
General appearance of the place isn't great though. First impressions count and the changing rooms definitely didn't leave a good impression! The floor was soaked everywhere due to inadequate drainage, the cubicles and lockers seem to be all crammed into a small space with most cubicles having a tiny triangular bench not fit for purpose. The family cubicles were better but again, the floors were covered in puddles. Lockers are well outdated, at a guess I'd say they've never been upgraded. They have flimsy plastic doors that can be tricky to lock due. The showers are by the poolside and although warm with enough power, it felt very open and almost as if they were part of the water play features/sprays. The pool area looks very drab and in desperate need of a refurb, tiles around pool missing, grout looks as if it's never been cleaned in some places, rust around metal bars and general wear and tear makes the place look worn down. It's a shame this place hasn't been updated recently because despite the unkempt look, it's a fab place for kids to enjoy. Not sure I'd return unless it's had a bit of TLC.

I attend this pool every week with my grandson for swimming lessons, the public areas are in need of a bit of TLC, the swimming changing is a bit shabby. But the facilities are what you would expect from a mid size leisure centre, the soft play for under 7's is not bad, the classes are all spot on and the staff are really helpful.

During the visit we encountered many unprofessional, untrained staff who did not know how to move chairs efficiently and quietly, also the Hoover/floor scraper/Satans hairdryer was very distracting whilst trying to do something productive. The tea was very expensive and not worth the £1.55, the milk was pasturised and very watery, this was not suitable.
The environment was unclean, 1/3 toilets were clean and they did not flush, unforgivable. The family surroundings were okay but I was not with a family so was not suitable, too many children.
The leisure facilities were unkept and old fashioned, they have not been renovated in over 15 years. I should know, I came here 15 years ago.
I was not impressed with the laminated colouring in book, how am I supposed to colour on plastic?
The food is decent, the only upside, I would not recommend.
Come at your own peril.
