Great if staying in Waimea

It was a quick drive from Waimea and a stunning beach. There is also a small cafe for burgers and beach rentals.

This is one of the best beach areas we have been to. We have travelled a lot in the Caribbean. Parking cost $5.00 but worth it. Lots of washrooms and changing areas. Great for picnics.

White sand beach, gorgeous blue water, plenty of room, great place to swim. Lots of parking but costs $5.00 to get in. Snack stand with plenty of lunch options. Nice sheltered areas. Also some sports for snorkelling.

Went here twice ! Very Nice Beach ! Showers and Changing area's . Nice Waves !! Will definitely go back , If you don't mind a little walk , you can park for free out on road. If your active and need a closer spot because you will get tired out on the Awesome Waves then pay the Park fee... More

A very large and gracious beach. Calm waters, safe for children, plenty of room everywhere. Parking on sight and daily sunsets. Snorkeling on the north side of the beach and visit the cave on the south that even some locals have no idea of its location. Total privacy in the cave. Bountiful white sand, spectacular scene. Plenty of locals each... More

We were on Hapuna beach every day for our 10 day vacation and loved it. We appreciated that the bay is protected and usually calm. Snorkeling is very good there during the morning hours.

Hapuna Beach might not be the most exotic or captivating beach on the Big Island (it actually reminded me a little of some of the beaches on Lake Michigan!), but it's still a great beach. The sand here is soft and white and I thought the swimming conditions were excellent. It stays somewhat shallow so you can swim out quite... More

Claimed to be one of the best beaches in the US it fell short of that description but it was a great little beach, clean sand and warm water that was at the perfect temperature. It costs $5 to visit and park at the beach.

It was awesome to only have to drive a short ways to find a perfect white sand beach with picturesque blue water. With lots of space, not much crowding and decent amenities just off-beach, we spend half a day here enjoying the warm water and beautiful weather. There's lots of space to run along the water if you're looking for... More
