Awesome Beach

It's a really cool beach, with showers and bathrooms. Sand is great and the water is clear. It does get crowded-if you want to avoid the crows make your way down Mauna Kea Beach

Hapuna Beach is part of a state park, but it is worth the visit. White sand, coral reefs and lots and lots of space - a great way to spend a day!

The beaches along Kailua-Kona were not great for lounging around so we decided to take a 45 minute drive north to Hapuna Beach, and it was definitely worth it. Beautiful setting with lots of room, warm water, not too windy, plenty of parking, and an outdoor shower to to rinse off sand. We heard Mauna Kea Beach was beautiful, but... More

A wide beach with some gentle waves. Plenty of parking but with a charge. Facilities were available. Get there by 10 if you want a nice spot. There was some cliff jumping to the left of the beach. Lifeguards on duty and attentive to the beach goers.

Beautiful sand (but it gets hot, so be sure keep your shoes near the shore so you can get back to your sitting location without burning your feet), clear gentle water( I do not consider myself a water person but this water is honestly from heaven and I spent hours just floating and relaxing, even saw a turtle pass by.)and... The beach is a short drive north of kona and off main road a short distance on paved narrow not far road. Pictures says it all wide beach sand shade trees line the entire shore line but limited parking and two entry area picnic tables shade cement areas showered and public toilets. Enjoy the pics and spend 1/2 day or... More

This is a great beach on the Kona side of the island, so if you're staying somewhere in that area, definitely easiest and best beach to go to. It gets crowded - very popular place among both tourists as well as locals. Good amenities with a bar / snack shop on prem. Fantastic sunset views!

Best beach ever! Stunning! Sand does get hot so wear shoes. If your staying here you can get free chairs with umbrellas and snorkel gear and towels! It's awesome! Good snorkeling. We saw several fish, coral. Locals said they wouldn't advise going around the point though FYI. We did several times though and were safe. There is a shaded area... More

This is a great state beach. There is a $4 per car charge, but there are excellent facilities for snack, bathroom, shower. I believe they have rental for umbrellas and chairs, but we were not staying long enough to do that. It is one of my favorite scenic beach locations

Hapuna Beach is an awesome stretch of sandy beach perfect for the entire family. The cabins provide "basic" accommodations with shared cooking and restroom facilities.
