Easy to get to with a good parking area. Showers and bathrooms available. Gorgeous beach with plenty of room. Soft, smooth sand with calm waves both times we visited. A couple areas of rocks off the beach provide some decent snorkeling.

This is a Hawii state park that charges $5 dollars for non-residents to park with a long walk from the parking lot to the water across lots of sand. There is no coral here for snorkel but there are some rocks to the left for jumping off of.

Most locals avoid this place because of crowds. First of all you have to define crowd. Big island crowd vs Waikiki crowded is way different. Huge beach for Big Island standards(not Oahu). White sands clear water which means no snorkeling because fish need rocks or coral), full facilities seemed like plenty of parking almost always sunny. Snack bar fish tacos... More

This beach was highly recommended from a co-worker. Went to this beach a couple of times while vacationing. Really nice and great for families w/ young children.

This is a beautiful, wide white sand beach. It's in a cove about a quarter mile across, perfect for open water swimmers to cross in the morning when the water is calmer. It was a great spot for me to teach my teenagers how to snorkel while my little one played in the sand.

Gorgeous beach, soft sand and it was never crowded when I was there. Had the beach to ourselves. If you are on the Big Island, this beach is a must. Give yourself time to stay, relax and enjoy!

This beach is great for swimming or snorkeling. Beautiful clean beach and easily accessible. I am not a good swimmer and felt safe to swim and have lots of fun seeing different tropical fish.

What an awesome beach. I have to say my favorite beach so far in Hawaii. The view was stunning from ever which way. They also have bathrooms and snack bar.

I found this beach thanks to TA. Wow! All the times I've been to the Hawaiian Islands, the water has been too cold for us, from Texas. This beach was the perfect temperature! I know all the water is the same, but maybe it's the shallowness of the water. All I can say is we were finally able to enjoy... More

Gorgeous beach! Great place to spend the morning or afternoon. There are restrooms and picnic tables. It costs $5 to get in. There are places to snorkel along the edges. Sandy beach! Worth a visit.
