This place is quiet good for younger kids (suits 2 / 3 year olds). Struggled to find even with sat nav directions (could do with better signage). The woman who served us seemed like she didnt want to be there. The coffee and food were ok. The softplay was good for the younger ones but lots of old toys lying around, and food on the floors. Would probably go again but staff need to be more friendly and welcoming.

Space to play is a good place to take your kids but it can be a bit dangerous. I was there 2 weeks back and an unconscious Argentinian fell through the roof. He was swiftly joined by a dwarf dressed as a nun. I'm not sure if this was an accident or some kind or entertainment. Either way I found it hilarious and will return

Absolutely disgusted they ages making the food and asked us to pay extra for more play time or get the kids to hurry eating! Staff are rude and inconsiderate and not there to help the place used to be great for the kids and parents now I will not be going back ever

I work as a childcarer and enjoy taking the children every week! There are some great offers, value for money and tasty food. It is usually the same very week but is a constant for the children. They know the staff who are kind and helpful, and the facilities are always kept up to the best standards. Classes, toddler group and other activities are on almost every week. I'd recommend this place for under 7's and a great place for a coffee!!

I first visited Space to Play when it first opened and was delighted with it. It was clean and the staff friendly.
However, more recently it has gone downhill. The places stinks of deep fat fried food and the staff don't seem to want to be there!
There were plug sockets exposed without covers which I thought was a major safety issue, especially as they were in reach of the little ones. We were also ordered to take our shoes off pretty much at the door because they "didn't want the carpet to get dirty". I understand the need to keep the place clean but it's not as though we were stepping on the soft play areas with our shoes on. This made it highly uncomfortable having to walk around barefoot - standing on half eaten nuggets and peas that the other children had dropped.
Won't be returning.

I’ve visited this soft play a couple of times! Each time I’ve been it’s been disgustingly dirty now to the point that I won’t be returning! My 3 year is a bit more robust and has a better immune system than my 6 month old, all the baby toys, baby walkers were covered in dust and dirt and god knows what else! What’s worse is that carpet, it is damp and dirty and to be honest I just didn’t even want to put my baby down anywhere. The place was empty at 3:10pm so not sure what the staff member was doing? Surely she could’ve got a cloth in her hand and done a bit of cleaning? Most baby toys are washable so again not sure why they can’t be stuck in the washing machine. It came to almost £13 for a 1 hour play, a cup of tea and a child’s meal with a drink! Such a shame as there is literally nothing else in Bedlington but the owner obviously has lost interest

Unfortunately the price of entry does not reflect the quality of toys available, however my low rating is based on the level of customer service that I received. I visited with my 18month old son and a group of mums/ babies and we ordered food at 11.15 after the rush had passed. During the 45 minutes my son waited for his meal, we enquired 3 times about waiting times etc and my son had to put up with bits of other people's meals to pacify him. Even worse was that other tables who ordered after us were served first. As my son grew more upset and I got more annoyed, I asked for a refund so I could leave. The older lady working was unbelievably rude, offered no apology and said she was feeding the children first. This was clearly not the case. She then tried to force the meal on us and when I refused and again asked for a refund, she threw the money at me. At this point I left before an argument erupted which would not have been appropriate for young children!!
My advice, given how many soft play venues there are in the area, go elsewhere- you'll be glad you did!

This is a great place, we come here weekly for a "creative kids" art class - and also to play!

It is aimed at younger children, I'd say from 0-7 years old maximum. That's one of the good things about it though, as you're not worried about your toddler being trampled by boisterous "big kids"

There are drinks, lunches, snacks, and little toys on sale too - which are tempting and reasonably priced.

The staff are superb, chatty, friendly, and accommodating.

We were fortunate on the day we went as there was other events happening nearby - our two kids (4 yr & 2 yr old) had the place to themselves plus one other child - there are 3 separate soft play areas for different ages but the biggest soft play area is still suitable for little kids (maybe take care if the place is busy). It is a total shoe free zone (adults too!!) so parents can go in soft play to help little ones. Lovely coffee shop selling cakes, crisps, sweets, drinks etc. Staff very friendly & place is very clean. Very reasonable prices - minimum time 1 hour. A bit tricky to find but well woth the effort!!!
