Wow, what an amazing place. Fantastic and majestic castle ruins in an amazing location perched on a cliff top. Beautiful views overlooking the surrounding countryside. reasonable price for entry though be prepared for a steep climb to the top. Family loved it.

The location itsrlf deserves a visit. The visit became great if you have opportunity to visit the castle. There are restaurants nearby, but as I came in morning do not try the food.

For me this is one of the best castle you can visit in the region. It's pretty old and not in a great shape, but there is a construction site that restores it with the medieval techniques. The view is splendid, and there are a...More

You always wonder when you pay to visit a ruined castle whether it will be worth it. This one certainly is. It's not been over "restored" and that adds to the attraction.

Thank you for your opinion. Indeed, the price is justified because it's a private castle and being restored. We are glad that you enjoyed the visit. Best regards. Marina

We visited Penne simply because we planned to go to a restaurant there. It was on a cold, wet September day, so we didn't have any great expectations for the visit to the village itself but were very pleasantly surprised. To start with, we took...More

Visited the Chateau in Penne- beautiful village and a fabulous Chateau ruin. The day we visited we saw the Chateau being restored by builders using Medieval tools and methods. Fabulous views from the peak. Worth a visit!

Beautiful village of great historical interest. A must-see when visiting the midi-Pyrenees. Eat in the local restaurant and take the opportunity for photos.

The castle closed for lunch, which meant we could not explore to the top of the village, and it was too hot to return that day. It would make an interesting visit as the village clearly has a history and story to tell. However, unless...More

Sadly the castle was closed on Mondays in October but it was lovely seeing it from outside and a very interesting little village.
