The visit to this museum is a journey through time and water. From the first boats connecting Battaglia to Padua or Chioggia to the new water courses, from the old fishing boats to the huge ships of the rulers of those times, all teach you something about the life of the inhabitants of those places. This wonderful visit can end with a walk with one of the boats still running on those canals and at the helm of which you can find a genuine sailor, willing to tell you extraordinary things.…

River boats, navigation, commerce. An absolutely fascinating museum that effectively brings to light a whole culture that would have gone completely lost - the gentleman who will take you through the exibits is just about the last voice of an era... I thought I'd spend ten minutes there, and ended up leaving at dusk. A must for anyone who loves boats and the water. Great day trip from Venice.…
