    NOT TO BE MISSED
I never thought I would find a villa of this kind in Veneto with such a rich history behind it! A guided tour is essential (Arianna was with us, she was very good) to fully understand the entire sequence of events that characterized his life. One detail among all: the villa is 180 meters wide (!!) and internally the main corridor runs the entire length of it. The architectural solution to delight guests with music from a mysterious origin is also yet to be discovered... Unmissable!

    An enchanting place
Even when you find it in front of you in all its majesty and refinement you are left breathless. The concert hall is wonderful, the exhibitions that are periodically set up are very interesting. At each visit I found guides who were prepared and engaging in their explanations.

Very kind staff in reception and super guide!
The villa is wonderful, needless to say, a masterpiece of architecture set in a beautiful park. I write this review to compliment the staff. We arrived at 11.00, thinking we could enter and they explained that the visit was only guided and was at 14.30. We took the ticket and were allowed to take a ride in the garden, without even asking. They were kind, smiling, understanding. It seems trivial to say but finding such helpful people is unusual and widens your heart! The guide of 2.30 pm was equally kind and exhaustive. Super management! Very good!

    Beautiful and very well organized
Designed, in part, by Palladio for the brothers paolo and Francesco Contarini (at the time Doge of Venice) in the mid-15th century, it was finished at the end of the 17th century to take on its current appearance Great. 144 completely frescoed rooms, apart from the ground floor where the gallery, also called the Shell Gallery, has walls and ceiling adorned with shells; in addition, it has a paro of 40 hectares. We booked a few days in advance (although not necessary) and, having arrived well in advance, we visited the park (as advised by the staff). The Villa is perhaps among the most beautiful, and the visit was extremely pleasant thanks to a truly prepared and delicious guide. Must-see places.

The corridor that runs transversally along the base of the villa, from one wing to the other is in full view and is 180m long...
This would be enough to make Villa Contarini amazing.
The visit (guided only) is carried out by reservation, for limited groups and takes almost an hour.
The explanations, sometimes fictionalized, on the structure and "intended use" of this place and its evolution over time are excellent.
Absolutely not to be missed.

The place can only be visited through guided tours.
The villa is full of anecdotes and curiosities, both the internal spaces and the view of the English garden at the back are beautiful.
The park and the third floor are unfortunately not accessible for now, but it is still worth a visit if you are in the area!

Beautiful complex with Venetian villa, other structures, romantic garden, etc. the highlight of the visit was a tour guide who was not just extremely professional, knowledgeable and articulate, but also took her time to translate in English even though this was supposed to be an Italian language group.

Visits to the villa are apparently only available via a guided tour

We visited this villa last month, very beautiful and well looked after, but it's a shame that it left us with a bitter taste as the guide was very repetitive and lacking in anecdotes that would certainly create more interest and suggestion. Furthermore, when she was asked why she kept reiterating (at least 10 times) the fact that people were walking in the frescoed corridor, she replied because maybe you don't hear well or listen. Very large and well-kept park.

Unpleasant staff, excessive lawn costs. At the entrance we find a sign saying we apologize for the inconvenience due to the construction site, but nothing about the fact that that passage was closed. A gentleman arrives who chases us away annoyed and invites us to pay the ticket for the lawn of 4 euros.

I was here in December 2021 and the only way to visit was to phone ahead and book. Whether compulsory bookings are due to COVID restrictions or simply that's how the villa is always run, I don't know.

Anyway, even from outside the building is spectacular!

I drove 20 miles to see this building. It is very nice from outside but they would not let me in. Pointless.

A magnificent villa, with a real history, and quite accessible to visitors by guided tour. Some spectacular details - Palladio, painting, spectacular rooms. Still lots of repair and restoration needed, but what is there is more than sufficient. You need a car to get there, though.

We found this by accident while we were looking for where Andrea Mantegna was born. It is a splendid place to visit and a tour of the villa will cost you 7 euros and you can stay on in the park and have a picnic if you so wish. The tour lasting almost an hour is well worth the effort and there are some beautiful rooms in the villa to see - original auditorium is just one. Watch out for the frescoes by a local artist Michele Primon and the villa abounds with truly magnificent sculptures all around the facade and in the gardens.

The Villa is open to the public every day from 9.00am until 7.00pm except Wednesdays during the sumer months.
