Been a long time since we've been down this way. Very well done with plenty of seating and good walking path. Good grassed areas for kids to play on.Despite cool weather, good to see plenty of people utilising the area.
Love the variety of sculptures, unique and make for great photo ops.

Took the ferry across to South Foreshore and had a really enjoyable walk along the waterfront.
We also had a walk round the Scented Gardens which were very fragrant and well worth a visit.
Fantastic views of the city of Perth skyline.
Great little beaches to visit with at least one of them being wheelchair accessible.

Nice spot to walk along, especially around sunset when it’s not too hot. Quite a few people but there’s enough space that it doesn’t matter too much. Plenty of places nearby to grab a bite or beverage too. Parking off the street is limited, may need to consider the underground carpark off The Esplanade.

The South Perth Foreshore runs from the Narrows Bridge to the Causeway. It is an easy track to follow. The grass is green during most of the year. Best way to get there is to take the ferry to Mends St from Elizabeth Quay in the city. There are lots of food and drink outlets in Mends St.

We took the ferry and walked along one afternoon. The views back to Perth are really nice and there seems like a more relaxed feel, as opposed to the cityside. Plenty of people having fun and picnicing and sailing.

This is a lovely open space - just surprising how useless the public toilets are.

My wife needed to use the toilet, but ended up walking to the business district on Mends St to use the facilities in the shopping centre instead.

For a fairly public area, perhaps South Perth should do better.

This will continue to be a pivotal location with the ferry-zoo nexus.

Lovely area between the Narrows Bridge and Causeway to enjoy a stroll or more vigorous exercise or just park the car and enjoy the many amenities that are available and so well maintained. We have previously visited on a couple of occasions for family picnics and celebrations. Certainly more enjoyable during the week for us, no crowds, the amenities available, and a real opportunity to see the area. Green lawns, BBQs, picnic tables, ablution blocks, parking facilities, playgrounds, cafes, restaurants, the jetty. Great views across the Swan and to the Perth skyline.

We arrived in South Perth, and stumbled upon Mr Walker's Jetty Restauarant. A very relaxing view over the Swan River at the Mend Street Jetty for a Saturday lunch. The food is good, and the we stayed a while, and did not feel pressured to leave. The staff are very helpful, although eye contact can be a bit difficult when needing further assistance. We found that they tend to be a little preoccupied with their tasks, when they should be panning the area for any additional drink or food orders. This would not deter us from returning, but it was a little frustrating that we had to do this. The restaurant has inside, and outside tables to cater for all needs, and weather conditions. The prices are reasonable, and our meals were delicious.

South Perth Foreshore is just a five minute Transperth Ferry ride from the City centre and Elizabeth Quay. There is a train station situated right next door to the ferry terminal at Elizabeth Quay.
So, after touring the City of Perth why not jump on the ferry for a relaxing ride over to South Perth and relax on the beautiful foreshore with great views across the river to the Perth City skyline.
There is an abundance of dining choices for all budgets in Mend Street, South Perth, plus its only a short stroll to Perth Zoo.

As a resident living in South Perth located only minutes from this beautiful riverfront, I can vouch for the South Perth foreshore as a free and beautiful way to spend your day.I feel grateful every day to live here. I walk along the river daily and always see something beautiful that lifts my spirits!

This is a picturesque, relaxing and beautiful location for walking, bike riding, general exercise or for just for 'being in the moment' and taking some time out, having a take away coffee or eating lunch and absorbing the views. This is also a great spot for an ad-hoc picnic and you can use barbeque facilities located along the shore line past Mends Street.

Mends Street offers a range of cafes, a great local pub ( The Windsor), various restaurants and a super market for those who want to pack their own lunch and wander down to the foreshore. Bring a blanket or a towel and set up shop with a view to die for!

The bird life here is very special.. black swans, pelicans, cormorants, artic terns and various migrating birds that visit seasonally are a real treat.

There is a little wetland located at the end of Mill Point Road, close to the Narrows Bridge underpass that attracts some stunning ducks and birds I am not familiar with but see photos attached to this review - their presence is dependent on the seasons.

Close by is a little jetty that overlooks the city; a superb place to take photos of the city and it is very idyllic. Sit here and hang your legs over the jetty and enjoy looking at the city while hearing the relaxing sounds of water lap at your feet.

You can walk to or from the city to get to the beginning of the South Perth foreshore walkway with ease although I highly recommend catching the ferry over or back. It's a great, cheap trip across the water - why not combine your day with a walk here and ferry trip back? The ferry will drop you at Mends Street jetty.

There are also 2 buses that leave from Perth Esplanade bus station (#34 ( get off at last stop on Mill Point Rd - where bus terminates - or #35 ( get off at Mends Street and walk to riverfront) both drop you within minutes of the river for a one way $2.00 fare. Buses are fast it will take less than 10 minutes from the city to get here. Services are roughly every 20 minutes.

Overall, this part of South Perth has a lovely community atmosphere..it's safe, very pretty and very convenient for people staying in the CBD or surrounds to access

Highly recommend having an afternoon drink at the Windsor hotel after your walk and sitting outside in the sun. The Windsor is an unpretentious neighborhood pub with lots of locals, cheap bar food and finer dining but relaxed a la carte menu options, friendly staff and a great central location to the river and ferry service.

if you are up for a visit to the zoo; you can walk there from Mends Street.

Twilight on the foreshore is super stunning as you watch the city of Perth light up at dusk.. bring your smartphone or camera to capture some beautiful footage.

As a free location attraction, South Perth is just lovely..and well worth visiting. I forgot to mention the dolphins! Every so often you will see a pod of dolphins (including babies) frolicking in the water in front of you..this is a really special experience for both locals and visitors.

Welcome to South Perth!
