Located just minutes from Perth City, Perth Zoo is a convenient and beautiful way to meet Australia's incredible wildlife.

Ever wanted to immerse yourself in the Aussie outback but have Asia's stunning rainforests and Africa's wild savannah right around the corner? Perth Zoo, with over 1500 animals and some of the most beautiful gardens in Western Australia, is your ultimate day out.

Open every day of the year, Perth Zoo inspires and directs all work to save wildlife. Go for a bushwalk and discover the best of Australia's wildlife including koalas, emus, wallabies, kangaroos and our enormous saltwater crocodile, Simmo. Go for a safari through the African Savannah with rhinoceros, giraffe and lions or delve into the Asian Rainforest and meet elephants, Red Pandas, tigers, otters and a colony of endangered Sumatran Orangutans.

You can explore at your own pace or take advantage of the many Zoo docent volunteers who have a myriad of stories to tell and help unlock some of the hidden secrets of the Zoo.

With at least half a day needed to see the Zoo, we recommend a full day to make your experience the best it possibly can be! The carousel, wagon hire, zebra car rides, keeper presentations, free electric BBQ's, picnic tables and cafe make the experience all the more worth it. For the more adventurous get up close and book a daily Eye to Eye experience - you might feed a giraffe, pat a rock wallaby or meet our quokka!

If you are in Perth and at a loose end Perth Zoo is a great place to visit. Well laid out, not huge but a good morning or afternoon to get around. Lots of species and the African section is excellent. Keep up the good work guys I will be back.

This is a smaller zoo and we covered all the exhibits in half a day. The elephants have a great enclosure and overall it is worth a visit but it isn't challenging the bigger zoos on the east coast

What a delight to spend time at this family friendly zoo well situated in south Perth; easy to reach by car and excellent parking. The zoo itself is well laid out and the map that comes with the entrance fee makes everything clear. We headed to the African Savannah section first - primarily to see the orangutans. On the way... Great little zoo, just a shame they had to be pumping sewerage while we were there (4hours plus) love the cart hire. Great for when little legs get tired.

We have taken the kids to pkenty of Zoo's but the Perth Zoo is one of our favorites. There's plenty to see and lots of open grassed spaces to picnic and enjoy during your visit. The kids love going to all the different sections and its one of the better layouts we've been to. I'd rate it over Melbourne Zoo... More

Spent a limited amount of time with other business associates, their focus was on the indigenous animals. I enjoyed the walk through the whole park and while I enjoyed the Kangaroo and Kola bear I also found many of the other species just as enjoyable and it was very interesting how much the animals interacted with the general public. It... More

We have been a Zoo Friends member since our firstborn was 1 year old (he is 4 now and has his own Zoo Friends pass!). Both boys love the zoo and always talk about the animals they've seen. Zoo Friends is great if you're a Perth local, especially with young kids because you can just go for a couple of... More

The zoo is one of our family laces to visit. Due to the high cost for getting in we don't go as often as we would like. The kids had fun which is the most important

It's very beautiful. You have a lot to do. Also for the kids. It's very clean and the animals looking good. There are on different locations the keeper tells something a bout the animals and give them their food. Only this that sometimes you don't hear what the keeper is telling. That is one thing they must changes.
