Located just minutes from Perth City, Perth Zoo is a convenient and beautiful way to meet Australia's incredible wildlife.

Ever wanted to immerse yourself in the Aussie outback but have Asia's stunning rainforests and Africa's wild savannah right around the corner? Perth Zoo, with over 1500 animals and some of the most beautiful gardens in Western Australia, is your ultimate day out.

Open every day of the year, Perth Zoo inspires and directs all work to save wildlife. Go for a bushwalk and discover the best of Australia's wildlife including koalas, emus, wallabies, kangaroos and our enormous saltwater crocodile, Simmo. Go for a safari through the African Savannah with rhinoceros, giraffe and lions or delve into the Asian Rainforest and meet elephants, Red Pandas, tigers, otters and a colony of endangered Sumatran Orangutans.

You can explore at your own pace or take advantage of the many Zoo docent volunteers who have a myriad of stories to tell and help unlock some of the hidden secrets of the Zoo.

With at least half a day needed to see the Zoo, we recommend a full day to make your experience the best it possibly can be! The carousel, wagon hire, zebra car rides, keeper presentations, free electric BBQ's, picnic tables and cafe make the experience all the more worth it. For the more adventurous get up close and book a daily Eye to Eye experience - you might feed a giraffe, pat a rock wallaby or meet our quokka!

My not-yet-2yo-grandson and I had the best day recently when we braved the rain and extreme cold to visit the Zoo. Despite the weather...or perhaps because of it...all the animals were out and about, highly visible and active. The crowds were minimal and we had interrupted interaction with kangaroos, elephants, rhinos, sun bear, lions, giraffe, zebras, koalas and more. The... More

Quite disappointing. Hardly see any animals. Caversham wildlife park is much better with koalas and kangaroos bouncing around.

Really good zoo, animals well looked after, and plenty of space for them in safari type enclosures. Information about each animal on exhibit. Lovely walkways and trails with plants from all over the world, definately worth a visit.

Very nice place to take the kids for a day of learning and enjoyment. Bring your picnic or buy food from the restaurants. It's a full day activity, best for the cloudy days as it can get pretty hot in Perth. Buy a family ticket and save yourself a little money. Parking available nearby.

Lots to see, clean, happy looking animals. Loved the dinosaurs around the place. The lions were amazing.

I've been to the zoo several times in my 27 years in Perth. The zoo staff are extremely informative and the animals have the best enclosures and are well looked after. However, if you're looking for somewhere to get up close and personal with Australian wildlife, this is not the place. The up close and personal experiences are extremely limited... More

Call before you go to get timetable of feeding times. The big Cats are active more in the morning or late afternoon., choosing to lay around during the warmer parts of the day. Take a picnic as it can get expensive at the Cafe. The Savanna walk is great. Take the time to just sit a watch. Monkeys what needs... More

We have bought annual passes as we go as a family a lot. These are great value for money as you can go for all day or just a couple of hours. Fabulous place to visit. Very clean, very family friendly. Beautiful lawns for resting, great things to see and do for all ages.
