Ramsagar is a huge tank built in 18th century by Raja Ram Nath when there was severe water crisis. About 28 hectares of water bodies is the main attraction along with its banks covered with many different kinds of trees. Govt has developed the area as a tourist resort and named Ramsagar National Park. A good road all around the tank has been built and can be visited by vehicles. It looks lovely when there is breeze on the huge wTer bodies. There are boats also to ride on the tank. Sagar means Sea and as it is a huge man made tank, it is called Sagar. Many people come there for picnics from all over the country. It is close to Dinajpur town, only 8 km away from Dinajpur town and can be reached there by any local transport. There are Kiosks to purchase drinks and snacks around the tank. There is a big restaurant also. It is better to visit the tank in the late afternoon when the sun falls down to avoid the heat of the summer. Actually it is open from 8 am to 7pm with a fee of TK 10 per person and TK 100 for vehicle. It is not comfortable to walk under sun and heat. It will be a very very long walk along the banks. The sad part is many people were taking bath in the tank and washing clothes using soap. The park authority should guard against such misuse of this vast natural beauty which is a national pride. October to March is the best season to visit the place.

We just took a look around the place in our car. But we did stop to look a the beautiful water body. Since it was so hot, we couldn't really sit there for long, but the view is very pretty without a doubt. There is an entrance fee, though I do not remember the amount. There was also a boat and they were offering rides.

RAMSAGAR is the largest man made lake in Bangladesh. It is vast and the surrounding of the lake is very beautiful. A nice place to spend some alone time. It has a small zoo within it's premises.

Its a vast man-made water reservoir at the north-west of Bangladesh. The water is very clean. As I visited the place on a working day there was very less visitor and it was excellent to roaming around.

This is another popular attraction in Dinajpur. It's huge pond that draws locals in droves in the afternoon. You sit beneath a tree and relax. You should consider going there in the morning, if you want less crowd. Locals say that many years ago, the ruler of this area gave an order to dig this huge pond to meet his subjects' rising demand for water. Nobody could give the specific time when this was actually dug.

Ramsagar' man-made water tank located at the village of Tejpur about 8 km south of Dinajpur town. It is considered to be the biggest man-made tank of Bangladesh. It can be approached from the town by a metalled road, which was once known as the 'Murshidabad Sarak'.

Its was mid-November when we pay a visit to ramsagar. Its a big pond, But I found there were no water activity available . only one boat, thats quite disappointing. The authority could take more steps to make it more tourist friendly.
