we stopped up here while we were staying in apice nuova....i guess this was the town before it got socked by an earthquake..they built the new town on the next hill over..

we drove up and parked and walked around for about an hour....there were definitely people around...not sure any one lives there any more....but there are some restaurants and the old castle....but.....it was like an episode from the twilight zone....we heard people but saw no one....heard radios playing....maybe we were there too early or maybe it was just a slow moment, but it was kind of surreal.....we LOVED it....we had the place all to ourselves....it is sort of stuck in time....i am sure that there are actual people who work the businesses but we saw no one.....it was really cool...if you are close by, GO! you wont regret it

The ghost house of old Apice is very suggestive, the tour taken with Fausto was very nice as he explains how people lived before and tells you about the characters who have made the history of this city... I recommend

An absolutely unique place. Leaving aside the tragedy of the earthquake that led to its abandonment, it is a true Gost Town, with an impressive castle beautifully restored, and an entire village abandoned overnight. The part that can be visited, at the moment, is a central ring, where several places have been opened (restaurants, bars, b&b). I hope that tourism development will continue, it has the potential. PS: to those who thought they had arrived at Disneyland, to have dinner with a ghost or to wander inside abandoned houses for almost 50 years (like TV series), and gave a negative opinion, I Recommendation to think before writing... Returning to serious things... highly recommended both for an unusual dinner for people from the region and for tourists passing through. I will return.

I was attracted to this old abandoned village after seeing it on TV, more than an hour's drive to get there to find myself in front of a large castle used for ceremonies and further on in the immediate vicinity of the village various restaurants, in short, a ghost town that I hadn't even imagined. the shade apart from what you manage to undertake through the large gates which at first sight are impassable given that there is no sign with information on visiting the village, taken by despair not having found the atmosphere of the ghost town we left disappointed
