    Great wine estate visit!
We had the guided tour here, including an explanation about the wine-making process. Great to see how they experiment with terracotta amphoras, concrete eggs, … Congratulations to our guide!!!!! We had some good wines to taste at the end as well, in a very nice restaurant-like room.

    Beautiful setting
First winery of a day tour, great wines and service. Four wines with cheese, matched well. Ask to try the z selection wines as these are their top line. We purchased wine from this range.

Delicious food and service in a lush garden setting
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and attentive service in the lush outdoor dining area. We chatted to the new owner of the restaurant and conference facilities and are impressed to learn about the improvements made in 2 short months. We are excited to hear of the further improvements still to come. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit to the Cape Winelands.

We popped in at the restaurant and the food was lovely! Tandoori kebab, pepper steak pie and cheesecake all recommended. The portions are quite generous as well.
I'd love to go back and to check out the spa, and cellar section - it's great for a day out.

Autumn in the vineyards .... beautiful. We enjoyed the chocolate and cheese pairings with 4 wines each. There is also a deli with cheese and cured meats etc. What a delightful way to spend a Wednesday afternoon!

We pre ordered a picnic basket and was very excited to spend the day at Zevenwacht. The gardens are beautiful but the food in the picnic basket was terrible. The cold meat was tasteless and the 2 thin pieces per person and 2 dry chicken strips were not our idea for a delicious Sunday picnic. R390 for a bread, pates, 2 small pieces of cheese, the abovementioned cold meats, pototo salad, 2 small wraps and ordinary strawberry cheesecake. Nothing really great and tasty. Not worth the money for us.

I stayed at the hotel attached to the vineyards and had a chance to visit the cellar and do a cellar tour and tasting. The staff was attentive but not annoyingly so. The wines were very good and I found the gift shop one of the best I visited in Capetown?!

What a disappointing picnic basket we had at this establishment! The price was R175 each. We had to lug our baskets down to the lawn and no blanket was provided or offered when we collected & paid. I later found out you could get one by paying a deposit - as if you'd run away with a blanket!
Contents: meat ball, mini bread loaf, small slice ciabatta bread, pot butter, pot liver pate, grated biltong, bottle plain salad, pasta salad, cup cake & Brownie. House wine included. Better value to sit inside and have a Burger or a breakfast in my opinion.

We received a complimentary wine tasting session and cellar visit as we were staying at Zevenwacht for the weekend. For paying customers, I do recall R35 ($3,5) for 5 wines with a free standard wine glass to take home and R50 ($5) for a larger glass.

We were greeted by Paul and Chris - two very knowledgable gentleman from Zevenwacht Estate (the latter does the cellar tour and equally knowledgable about wines).

We selected 5 wines and were shown how to judge each one - colour, aroma, taste, etc.
Paul also suggested meals that each wine can go with - we threw a curveball when we told him we were vegetarian, but obligingly researched veggie dishes while we were there.

Chris then took us on a short tour of the cellar - it can be cold in the cellar, but the tour does not take too long. Chris is very knowledgable about the entire process from picking to sorting to processing to packaging and storage in the various oak barrels.

After the tour, we noticed that they have a large selection of cheeses, pestos, tampanades, biscuits that you can buy to compliment your purchased wine. I think you can also request a cheeseboard while you are tasting. They also have a shop for wine paraphernalia or just general gifts/souvenirs. Wines can be shipped overseas as well, we were told.

A great way to spend an hour on a very picturesque farm. I have come away with a new found respect for 'viticulture' and 'oenology' and other esoteric words associated with wine making! Most educational and made fun by Paul and Chris - great assets to Zevenwacht.

Tours on a Saturday are at 10h00, 11h00, 15h00 and 16h00. Book by calling the office.

Cozy and cool place with good wine and cheese. We were a party of 7 and all agreed that we should come back. The different wines were good

I ordered the Honey Glazed Lamb Knuckle which was very disappointing. It did not look at all what was described on the menu. It had no colour and flavour, it looked bland. It was more like a pressure cooked lamb knuckle stew. No beautiful dark colour from the red wine and a sauce that looked terrible with vegetables which looked as if it was boiled. It's the most expensive dish on the menu but most disappointing.
