I'm in the BEST shape of my life. THANK YOU!
May 2019
I started going to Ubud Pilates in May of 2019. I was in OK shape when I started but didn't really think of myself as a fit or athletic person. The classes were super challenging but Asa gives clear instructions and always offers modifications. She a very knowledgeable and professional instructor and each class is consistently good quality. It was super motivating to attend the classes because it's an experience unlike any other gym class! The studio is gorgeous along with the music and the culture of the studio is super cool and inviting. For the first month, I went about 2 times a week and noticed a difference in my flexibility and my posture after just a few weeks. Eventually, I started going 3-4 times a week and after about 9 months in total, not only was my body in better shape but my confidence was completely transformed. For the first time in my life, I felt strong physically and positive about my body. I have tried pilates at home in the USA and around many different parts of the world, and really, there isn't a class out there like this one. Its the best. :)

Excellent Experience
Jan 2020
Asa’s classes were brilliant in every way. Friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about all aspects of human movement and physicality. My husband and I participated in 4 beginner classes in our week in Ubud and just loved it. Asa’s guidance helped us to extend our abilities whilst focusing on alignment and proper technique. We will definitely be back next time we are in Ubud, maybe challenge ourselves with an intermediate class. Thank you Asa x

I was missing my Pilates this holidays, whilst I would have settled for yoga I was so happy to come across Asa’s Pilates studio. She is a fantastic instructor and I 100% enjoyed the session.

After relocating to Bali from Australia in 2018 my first priority was to source a Pilates Studio.

I’d had back surgery and my surgeon advised regular Pilates sessions with a reputable instructor.

I sourced Ubud Pilates and was very impressed. The initial interview with Asa, the owner/instructor was personal and comprehensive.

The studio is in a peaceful location, which offers a tranquil, spacious environment. Mats and various props are provided.

Attention to detail and individual approach to her students needs, highlights Asa’s experience and passion for her profession.

Asa is personable & always greets her students with a warm smile on arrival. I leave her studio feeling pleasantly challenged and very relaxed. I’ve been attending classes for 14 months and look forward to every class.

I highly recommend anyone considering pilates to visit Ubud Pilates at Penastanan.

Asa is a wonderful instructor
Nov 2019
My husband and I loved Asa and her beautiful studio. We had previously only done home pilates but wanted to try a couple of classes. We loved it so much we ended up doing a 5 class package.

Her class is both challenging and informative. She uses a mixture of props so every class you are doing something different and they bring a deeper level of muscle activation than just doing mat work alone. Asa is so kind and warm and great at explaining the movements. She is really good at cueing you when to breathe and cueing you to always have your core engaged. This definitely has helped with form and getting a stronger workout. She gives variations to the movements, depending on your level. You can tell that Asa is skilled and is dedicated to her teaching.

We can't wait to come back to Ubud to take her classes again!

Pilates In Ubud
Dec 2019 • Solo
Asa is an absolutely incredible Pilates instructor. She holds small classes and devotes personal attention to each and everyone of her clients. I spent a month in a half in Ubud and always made time for her Pilates sessions. She is an excellent instructor catering to all levels. Her studio is beautiful and always has small classes. She definitely always makes sure you are doing everything correctly so that you are getting the most out of the classes. I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in doing Pilates in a Ubud!!!

Asia is an awesome Pilates teacher. I do regular clinical Pilates at home - her teaching has improved my technique back home as well. Group classes are 90 minutes. I have only done beginner classes despite having done Pilates for years as her classes are rigorous - I definitely feel I've worked and my body feels better afterwards. I look forward to returning on future trips to ubud.

FANTASTIC TEACHER & BEAUTIFUL STUDIO
Jul 2019
I felt so lucky to discover Asa and her beautiful studio.

I have done many Floor Pilates classes over the years and rate the experience that I had at Asa's studio as some of the best classes I've ever done. I did 4 classes over the week that I was in Ubud - every class was the right level of challenge, every class was different and I felt very comfortable in Asa's safe and expert hands.

Asa is a highly skilled practitioner, caring and perceptive, very good at explaining poses and exactly what your body is getting from each pose. She is very warm and friendly and the studio environment is absolutely stunning - like a zen temple!

I would highly recommend Ubud Pilates to people of all levels of skill and experience.

Came for Yoga, stayed for Pilates
Sep 2019 • Solo
I thought I might have tried Yoga while in Bali. That was not the case. Instead I saw that I was living just next to a Pilatesstudio - after 10 times with Åsa, I'm hooked.

WHY PILATES - was my first thought. I knew heard a bit about Yoga but not Pilates.
Pilates is a great compliment to my usual barbell workouts in the gym. It works with active stretch, joint mobility, supporting muscles, general core stability and balance. After a few classes, my conclusion is that every person from office worker, to construction worker, young and old will have some benefits from pilates.

5 out of 5
- Studio (relaxing, great fans, fresh water and good sound)
- Variation (Åsa used a lot of different equipment and the sessions varied a lot).
- Location (you can park your scooter in the ally where the studio is. It's just outside of the busy Ubud in Penestanan, which is perfect).
- Åsa (super experienced and knowledgable, very professional and nice, hawk eyes, sees everyone and makes it easy to adjust to your level, super CLEAR instructions, makes you UNDERSTAND pilates, quick in communication and just a nice person :) ).

I warmly recommend you trying Pilates with Åsa! If you come to try Yoga, also give this a try - you will not be disappointed.

I did 10 classes with mostly beginner and some intermediate. The beginner is great even for me who has basic strength. The intermediate is a bit more demanding on muscle stamina and that you got some of the bracing basics down.

Will continue when I get back home to Sweden for sure!
