Definitely recommend rafting with Big River. Our experience was AMAZING. We had Mads as a guide, she was one of the coolest people ever, knowledgeable, friendly and super chill. We felt completely safe the whole time and Mads definitely helped my younger daughter (10) feel comfortable. We laughed a lot and it was great family fun. We did the rafting deal that includes the picnic and it was totally worth it. The whole staff made it a great and safe day.

Our guide was incredibly experienced and knowledgeable about the wildlife, area, geology, and culture in the region. He was very skilled at operating our raft, despite really challenging weather conditions, and at no point were we afraid of falling into the river, which we have heard happens regularly at other tours. Very friendly guide who was a blast to talk with and really made the trip a special experience. Would recommend this tour operator over some of the other competitors in the area, as this tour operator is run by an owner who was been rafting for over three decades across many types of water and has high standards for all guides in his employ.

My scout troop did a rafting trip on the Rio Grande. Everyone had a great time and we had smiles all around. Brian and Doug were the captains of each boat and kept us entertained with historical and geographical info about the parts of the river we were in. We had a group of 12 - so 6 in each raft plus guide. We did a full day and requested to do the class 3 shoots twice… we wanted action. The guides kept us in the sweet spots and we all felt safe with the adventure.

These guys are the best! They know and love the river and with geological insights as well as surfing rocks and getting the rapids in just the right positions the thrill is just unmatched! Our family has used these guys exclusively for 12 years and I would never use anyone else! Simply the best!

On our first trip up in 2022, we booked the racecourse and rode with Mads and Brian. We had so much fun that we returned in 2023 and booked a full-day run through the Box and Racecourse. Unfortunately, the Box section was too low and dangerous, so we did a double Racecourse: boats in the morning and fun yaks in the afternoon, and it was the best choice! Billy was excellent at communicating with us about the changes, and our two guides, Migs and Zach, were fantastic! We had so much fun, and every time we come here, we will be booking with Big River!

We took a rafting trip on Tuesday, August 17 with Big River Rafting. Our guide Paris was outstanding. He was patient and very helpful. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants a great rafting experience.

We booked this last minute the day before but Big River Raft Trips was happy to accommodate us. It was affordable and really fun. Neither my wife nor I had done a rafting tour before. Not sure if it’s always this chill on this part the Rio Grande (it was pretty late in the season apparently) but this seemed like a great beginner course. It was exciting at times but not too dangerous. Beautiful scenery and our guide, Paris, was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Would definitely do this again and/or recommend it to anyone interested in a rafting tour.

Was amazing! Billy was a fantastic guide, agreeing to take us down the river in February! He was knowledgeable on the history of the region, told great jokes, and gave us snacks on the river! Great company. Would 100% book with him again.

Amazing experience! We took the whole family, 11 people ranging in age from 11 to 81! Billy and the raft guides were super accommodating to our big group and our elderly grandparents. Joel guided my raft and he was an awesome guide. I had never done any river activities before and he was a great teacher. He was clearly very knowledgeable about the river and also told us interesting info about the surrounding geology and landscape and local history. Sandwiches, drinks, and snacks provided for lunch including vegetarian option. We felt safe and taken care of the whole time. PFDs provided and checked by the guides and we got a thorough safety talk. Joel was very kind, friendly, and fun and was great with my 11 year old cousin :) This trip was the most fun I’ve had in years and I’m thankful to the guides for a fun and safe trip. (Tip your guides!!!!!) We definitely plan to return for another trip!

We were an 11 person group including grandma and grandpa (in their 80's) and kids (age 11) and every age in between. Went on 4th of July weekend, water level was a bit low but still had SUCH A GOOD TIME! Guides were great (especially Brian; the dude is as erudite as they come) and made sure we were safe and involved. My nieces (from NY) who generally dread the obligatory visit to g n g had a great time and can't wait to come back next summer - so we can raft again. By far the best bang for your buck. Billy, super time, thank you and we will see you next May or June - count on it! :).
