Hautvillers is a beautiful hilltop village with multiple champagne cellars. The champagne is excellent so why not stop at the place where it all began. A simple beautiful church with a fascinating history; although the remainder of the abbey was not accessible when we were...More

This is a nice, small abbey where you can visit the crypt of Dom Perignon. Nice place to pass through after tasting and buying some Champagne from J.M. Gobillard et Fils just down the street. I do recommend that as the quality and value of...More

The church is beautiful inside and out. Of note in it’s illustrious history the inventor of champagne Dom Perignon is buried here.

A quick stop on most of the champagne tours. Worth seeing. It’s a cool little chapel in the champagne region.

This is a nice place to go when you are done wine tasting. Please do follow the walls around the abbey. At the back end of the village you will find a picknick spot with fabulous views on the valley.

In our way to the House of Moët & Chandon, we stopped at Abbaye Saint-Pierre d’Hautvillers where Don Perignon was burried. It was a quick stop, but I found it very informational. Dom Perignon was a pioneer who mastered winemaking techniques and it was heartwarming...More

If you are in the area you have to visit Dom Perignon if it wasn’t for him and Dom Ruinart we wouldn’t have Champagne. It’s a lovely little Church very cold and it was nice that we were they only ones in the church.
