Get up close with Dom Perignon
Jun 2021
It may not be Dom Perignon that invented the champagne, but name one name that is as associated with the bubbles as his? So the highlight of the visit to the Abbaye is for most I presume to visit the tomb of Perignon himself. And why not come to pay your respect for him and his invention.
The village where he is buried is gorgeous and should not be missed on a tour around the villages of Champagne.

Monsieur Dom Perignon worked and was laid to rest here
Jul 2019
So fortunate this was part of the champagne tour I booked through Expedia. Met some great people in our small group of 6 and our guide was hands down awesome!
Of course it is mostly just another abbey but spectacular to see the place where Monsieur Dom Perignon worked and was laid to rest.

it's just an abbaye
Nov 2019
There's not a whole lot more to this abbaye than being an abbaye. Don't expect anything relating to Dom Perignon and Champagne.

Go early and do not expect some great Dom Perignon statue
Dec 2019
This church is trying to keep real to their roots as an abbey church. I went early, so it would not be infested with disappointed tourist that come here to search dom Perignon and only find a silly stone at the front of the church. It is a great place to take your time, go for a hike and contemplate how Dom Perignon was inventing the Champagne the region has become world famous for.

Interesting Church
Oct 2019 • Couples
Somehow I expected the resting place of Dom Perringnion to be a little more’tourist friendly’.
The Abbey itself is pleasant though simple. Clearly it’s main function is as church rather than a monument.
Worth a visit though I wouldn’t put aside much more than half an hour.

Paying homage to the founder
May 2019 • Friends
Seemed a non-negotiable that we had to pay homage to the founder and say thank you for allowing us to enjoy this wonderful product.
The church is quite quaint with a number of nearby champagne houses.

Pretty little church
May 2019 • Friends
This pretty and ancient church is the last resting place of Dom Perignon - you can walk over him as you advance up the centre aisle. Unless you're big on the graves of long deceased champagne inventing monks then I wouldn't go too far out of my way. obviously it's a little piece of champagne history and the abbey and grounds are pretty, if a little run down these days. Obviously the wealth of the champagne houses doesn't extend far past it's own topiaried gardens. Although I note that Moet et Chandon has a large and beautiful corporate venue being developed virtually next door on an adjoining gated property.

Visit the Dom's resting place
Jun 2019 • Couples
The church is in a pretty setting but the inside of the building is a bit run down. Walk towards the altar and you will find the floor plaque of Dom Perignon. Not much else to see.
