About
Our family has owned the same land since the beginning of 1800. For many generations we have produced grapes. Our vineyards are located in the heart of the "Valpolicella Classico" region, above Marano di Valpolicella. They are located in the beautiful hillsides of Valpolicella, at an elevation of 450 meters above sea level all with a great southern exposure throughout the growing season.

We were looking for a few places to visit for wine in the region and decided on this one after reading reviews on TA. What a great decision!

We arrived without an appointment and were greeted like returning friends by Giacomo. A tasting was quickly put together, but it was much more than just a tasting. He explained the story and all about their wines and philisophy and took time to let us taste all wines in ascending quality. The wines are exceptional!

I should have listened to one of the other reviewers in here saying that he regretted all other wines bought before visiting Corte Fornaledo. I agree! I strongly recommend a visit - call ahead and set it up. Giacomo speaks excellent English, so no problems there. Great experience!

It is worth coming to this winery for a few reasons:
1. the drive up is amazing. If you can walk back down the hill for a couple of kilometers!
2. The wines - they are really wonderful!
3. The hosts - they are dedicated to being great, and doing all aspects of their business well!
4. Organic and sustainable approach!
5. They will ship you your wines.

We will order from them from the USA

This small vineyard belongs to a family who has been making wines on top of the hills of the Valpolicella region for more than two centuries. The proprietor Giacomo is clearly passionate about his wines and the tradition that they represent. We tasted a variety of his excellent wines. We discovered the sweet `recioto' red wine that is the forefather of the famed Amorone. This was all served up with salami from Giacomo's uncle and olive oil from the olive trees that line the edges of the vineyard. We came away with better appreciation for the magic of (what the French call) `terroir' and caught a glimpse of that intangible romance that permeates rural Italy.

We were looking for a small but professional wine producer, not one of the biggest with showroom etc. We found Corte Fornaledo in Purano.
By phone we took an appointment and had a very interesting, charming and professional visit of the the winery (outside and inside). Giacomo Borghetti, the owner explained us everything (in very good English). He is working together with his brother the wines: Valpolicalla Classico Superiore DOC, Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore DOC, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG, Ricieto della Valpolicella Classico DOCG and Vitae IGT ROSSO VERONA. He even has some great olive oil.
The charming part is, that the Borghetti brothers are selling themselves their production and have not an expensive distribution partner system.
The wines were excellent, especially the Amarone (very personal). Of course everybody has a different taste, but we loved.
Giacomo said: you come as a potential interested person and you go as a friend. We can really confirm this philosophy.
We can anytime recommend Corte Fornaledo, Giacomo and his professional way of talking about his passion and profession and of course the wines! See you soon and thanks for this extraordinary experience!

We were driving around Lake Garda, and decided to visit the Valpolicella area and get to know better the local wines. We selected this small vineyard based on reviews, and were very happy with the choice - we called to reserve, so we could select a mutually convenient time. We spent a good couple of hours with Giacomo, one of the owners (third generation wine-making in their azienda agricola), who is fluent in English and explained with knowledge and passion their business from grape to wine, showing us around in the field and in the cellars. The actual tasting of their wines came with local cheeses and salami, and covered the main Valpolicella wines: Classico, Superiore, Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto. The cost of the wine tasting session is €15 per person, and typically you buy some of the wines (we also got some of their excellent olive oil) - we drove there so we carried the bottles with us, but they can ship in Italy and abroad. We really enjoyed it, and will go back.

We had asked Pagus Wine Tours to put together a day of wine tasting for our party of 3. Corte Fornaledo was the third stop of the day. Giacomo was our host for this visit and gave us a tour of their winery. He outlined the various wine making processes and the standards to which they must adhere. Giacomo was passionate about their craft and was eager to share. The facilities were outstanding and the scenery spectacular. The wine? That was very good too. Having some shipped home. An outstanding and memorable visit.

We had a great time visiting Giacomo at his beautiful vineyard! He showed us around the vines and let us taste all of his specialities - wine and oil. He is full of knowledge and enthusiasm, and is a delight to listen to. Thanks a lot for having us. Next time we'll drive to Italy so we can buy even more wine. 🍷🇮🇹❤️

Me and my wife came here for a tasting. It was so cozy and comfortable. The rustic feel of this place was amazing. The owner that went through the tasting for us was knowledgable and very generous. It was like we were just at a friends house enjoying their wine. We bought some of their own wine blend Vitae and a bottle of the Recioto dessert wine. I am seriously considering having a case shipped home, it was so good!

This is a family winery and our visit was arranged by our Pagus tour. The owner (one of the two brothers) walked us through the vineyard and explained to us different ways of growing grapes in the region. The explanation is clear and comprehensive. We also learned the origin of Amarone wine and the story of its "father" Recioto wine. Unfortunately, this is not the season for us to see how they dry the grapes for the Amarone wine. We had the wine tasting after the vineyard visit. They make very good Valpolicella wine & Amarone wine with passion & love for their land. We were also offered to taste homemade salami, cheese, bread with homemade olive oil while we had the wine tasting. It was one of our best experiences among all the winery & vineyard visit we had all over the world.

Thank you very much for your review. It is always a pleasure for us introduce our life, our vineyard, our winery and our wines. In the end of August an important wine importer in Hong Kong will taste our Amarone della Valpolicella 2010. I will let you know if it will be possible to buy our wines in HK. Best Regards Giacomo Borghetti

My wife and I went on a Pagus Tour that included this vineyard. We have visited well over 150 vineyards in 7 countries and Giacomo was one of the most knowledgeable and entertaining hosts we have ever met. he was funny kind and informative and a pleasure. we would go back again since we want to learn from people who have this kind of commitment and joy in their vocation. The wine is delicious and complex and Giacomo and his brother are inventive and ambitious and they deserve success. Such a great property full of history in a tremendous part of the world.
