About
Meridiana Wine Estate produces some of the best Maltese wines. All our wines are produced using only Maltese grown grapes, most of which in the vineyards of our estate in Ta Qali, Malta's agricultural heartland. Meridiana Wine Estate produces only approx 140,000 bottles of wine per year and is considered to be a boutique winery producing high quality wines - our mission statement is to produce World Class Wines of Maltese Character. Some of our most renowned wines include the Isis (Chardonnay), Astarte (Vermentino), Melqart (Cabernet Sauv/Merlot), Nexus (Merlot), Bel (Syrah), Celsius (Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve). We have recently launched a First Limited Release of our new dessert wine, Baltis (Moscato Passito). The first vintage has yielded only 405 bottles. We also produce a mid level range called Fenici. It is made up of a White (Vermentino/Viognier/Chardonnay), a Red (Syrah/Merlot) and a Rose (Cabernet Sauv/Syrah). Most of our production sell in Malta & Gozo. We reserve a small amount of wines for export to select markets like Japan, Denmark & Belgium and to private clients in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

- Heather T20 contributionsMeridiana wine tastingWe visited whilst staying on the island. Wine tasting was enjoyable. Large platter food! Don’t have any lunch before going you won’t need it. We were leaving the following day but were pleased to see the wine was available at the airport duty free.Visited January 2023Written February 8, 2023
- rredrose126Leicestershire, United Kingdom85 contributionsDefinantly worth a visit! Was a very nice trip out for the morning while staying in Valletta Malta. Went on an excursion from our hotel and was only a short trip to get there. The tour itself was quite short but the tasting was really nice. We were given 4 really good wines to taste and our choice of a classic or a Malta tasting platter to go with it. The setting was beautiful and at no time were we rushed so had time to enjoy the experience. Would recommend a visit if you are there. A bit expensive but you are on holiday so enjoy :)Visited March 2023Written March 22, 2023
- julie g1 contributionSpeed Wine TastingWe went as a group, we have been previously in 2019 and had a fantastic tour and wanted to return. This time we took a party of 16 and were very disappointed. The guide had very little time for us, we were not shown the metal vat area and the history was cut short. The actual tasting itself was done with speed. With very little said about each wine and no time for questions. A wine tour and tasting of 4 wines in under an hour! We were then told we needed to move to another area because there was another tour. We are all locals and could have taken friends and family to return in future, but unfortunately this won't be the case. Bottles of wine were purchased by some, but were under sold.Visited June 2023Traveled with friendsWritten June 26, 2023

Had a lovely few hours visiting this wine estate and then tasting some of the wines whilst enjoying the sunshine and the view. For 25 euros we had a short tour and then tasted 4 wines on the terrace accompanied by the most amazing and delicious platter of cheeses, meats, fruit, salad, bread etc. The only negative is that we were offered the opportunity to taste further wines but when we were ready to do so the staff had disappeared to start the next tour. Such a shame as they lost out as well as we did.

Meridiana do excellent wines. We had enjoyed 3 bottles of theirs out at different restaurants and so decided to visit their winery. For €25 you get a tour, a platter of meats and cheeses, and 4 glasses of wine (plus option to try more glasses for small extra cost).
The tour showed us everything and we got an insight into the history of the winery. Would have liked a little more info on how wine is produced, and the different types of wine (we are total wine newbies so knew nothing!). The tasting afterwards was great, on the balcony overlooking the vines, and not pretentious (ie we got tasting notes presented on a little card but we didn’t have to sit and discuss each one, you just got left to enjoy it). The platter to accompany the tasting was huge! Fortunately we’d not had lunch and that did us for the day, so we’d recommend not eating before.

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting this vineyard. When entering, you walk through the vineyard itself to the amazing estate where you are welcomed with a very friendly greeting.
We immediately felt relaxed at at ease to be able to look around at photos and information around the room and garden.
We then had the tour which was quite short with firstly being told information about their wine and learning some interesting facts and then going down to where the wine is stored in the barrels.
After this, we were served the best platter I have ever seen and enjoyed! We had a selection of 4 wines with information cards under each and generous amounts to try. I'd have perhaps enjoyed the tour guide to have told us about those 4 wines in person whilst trying them but we had the information to read at leisure whilst we enjoyed them.
The platter of cheese, salami, grapes, fruit, bread, crackers.... was sensational! Incredibly generous size also and all enjoyed in a beautiful setting which we were able to sit and relax in for a couple of hours on sofas.
High recommended for a well-rounded relaxing afternoon!

All you need to know is DONT buy wine to be shipped anywhere as they DONT tell you of the expensive charges you have to pay the courier..we bought £150 of wine of which shipping was included in this price and then received a letter from Parcel Force saying we needed to pay £95 costs on top. The vineyard were unhelpful and said its not down to them...WELL warn your customers then!!!! Do unprofessional and disgusting

Booked last minute due to poor weather inhibiting other outdoor activities. The owners accommodated the request and we’re very welcoming. The whole vineyard had a very family feel and we were able to relax throughout the tour.
The cost is exceptional for what is included. The wines were delicious as was the food (which we were not expecting). A great day out. The only thing which would have made it better was being taught more about how to taste wine and a tractor tour around the vineyard.

Excellent little tour of the premises and subsequent tasting of two white and two red wines (plus a dessert wine at 4.50 euro a glass) accompanied by a delicious charcuterie board.
The event manager and guide were very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the vineyard and the wine industry on Malta.
Extra bonus: the lovely cat and the sunshine at the rooftop terrace!

A really interesting tour - we got to see the grapes being crushed and the basement where the wine is matured in barriques. Great value for money. The wine was delicious! We were served a huge platter with lots of cheese to accompany the wine.

Booked this on a whim and was so pleased we did! The estate is picturesque and we were taken around by Rita, who was very knowledgeable and had a great energy about her.
The tour itself lasted around 45 minutes, after which we were taken upstairs and provided with the wine tasting experience. We were given three wines, all of which were accompanied by a food platter and some bread.
After the tour, there is a gift shop where you can buy Meridiana wines and other souvenirs. All in all, a great experience and would highly recommend!

We visited this winery following an opportunity offered in the Agrifair held in Malta and must say it was really worth the time. Although rather on a small scale, this little estate has it all. Hearing them talk about their wine and bottling process you can tell that they are really passionate about their wine and take pride in its production. They were ready to respond to any questions asked and the answers provided could be easily understood by anyone. Although a lover of white wines, Chardonnay is usually not one of my favourites, but their Chardonnay is truly amazing. I would recommend this experience to any wine lover.

A wine tasting booked directly with the winery costs €12 per person and for an additional €10 per person you can add a Maltese platter. Please contact us to book your tasting.

We are staying in Valetta and have booked a wine tour for Monday. What is the best way to get there by bus or are we better getting a taxi? Thanks in advance xx

Malta has a service called E-cabs (Uber with company-owned vehicles) that I used. Very convenient and not that expensive.
How much did you pay for the tour? Im looking at booking for a group of 6. TIA
