Our 1st visit (we had a gift voucher for a Hawk flying experience). Seemed to be huge place with garden centre, parkland, woods & a restaurant on top of the birds of prey centre.
The (Approx 45 min) Hawk experience (with Ben) was a delight as the bird came to the baited glove from various angles. Lots of info too from the enthusiastic Ben.
The caged Birds of prey centre seemed a little dark & claustrophobic in many of the sheds which was a little disappointing but there is a good variety of Birds of prey plus other animals. It’s only a small area & you can go around it quite quickly.
Now hungry we headed for the cafe/restaurant where despite the business we were got our order in quickly after finding a table. The prices are pretty expensive, but the ploughman’s. A veg Quiche & large pot of tea for two at under £20 was fair enough (we shared each other’s & it was yummy!) The meals came out quickly too.
In summary: our 1st visit & a very good one. Families clearly love it as it was full of them. Suggest you Gen up on meal prices or take a picnic, there are plenty of green spaces to sit in.

I visited here with my husband. He had been before but it was my first time.

There is a large car park and we had no trouble at all getting parked.

The main attractions are free.

We had a little look around the outdoor animal section but there weren't too many out there to see.

The farm shop seems pretty reasonably priced for Oxfordshire and we bought a few little bits that had been reduced as they were 'best before' that day.

There is a large outdoor play area and this was very busy. I think because it's free that a lot of parents bring their children after school and this was nice to see.

We had gone there specifically for the Falconry Centre. You have to pay extra for this. I think we paid about £15?
We hadn't realised this closed earlier than the other areas so only had about an hour before they closed. We still had to pay full price and I think that the price for the final hour should perhaps be reduced to half price as you don't get a lot of time to look at each enclosure in an hour.

There is a good range of creatures to look at. They have birds (obviously), meerkats, racoons, reptiles, insects etc.

I adore racoons and loved seeing them. They aren't tame. But they certainly aren't scared of you and are so funny to watch. They run above your head in tunnels to so you can hear them scrabbling around.

The birds are fabulous too and there are a real range of species.
Some were real characters and we spent ages with a raven that was so entertaining!
The young girl who was in there was really friendly too and chatted to us about the birds.

Because we were there just before they closed, there was only one other couple in there so we didn't feel like it was too busy.

As said above, I think it was expensive for only getting an hour in the Falconry Centre and I think the price should be less for the last hour of the day, but I had a lot of fun and would definitely return again. I think next time we would go for lunch then spend the afternoon in the Centre.

Always used to be a great place to visit.
The paddocks that are empty need sorting? Very overgrown & generally look a mess! Would be nice to see the empty paddocks filled or just kept tidy?
The food in the restaurant is very over priced and small portions except for the pizzas! I had a baked potato with chilli. The chilli came in a tiny ramekin and it looked like it had been warmed in the microwave? My husband had the ploughman’s it was served on a side plate with everything piled on top of each other. Terrible presentation!
Many people with children left disappointed as they had run out of chips? It has a farm shop next door couldn’t someone have made some fresh ones with the potatoes?

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. We have been moving some of the animals about lately - hence some of the empty paddocks. They will all be filled shortly and then will be munched to a more tidy state! Sorry to hear you didn't feel the Farmhouse Kitchen didn't represent value for money. I will pass on your feedback to the management team.

Really disappointing experience in the garden centre cafe, went today (a Sunday) ordered 2 roast dinners, a hot sandwich, chips and drinks. Virtual queue is a great idea and texts you when your table is ready, the drinks were lovely but unfortunately we waited over 30 minutes for the food, all of which arrived stone cold, not helped but the chilled cranberry sauce, even the portion of chips was cold and the melted cheese in the sandwich had rehardened which was very unpleasant. I saw our order being looked at and witnessed the ‘chef’ take 2 pre-made turkey dinners, sandwich and chips out from under the lamps to serve us, lord knows how long they had been there but it’s certainly not fresh food and could’ve been done 30mins beforehand. I should’ve turned the food away after spending £46.50 but after being so hungry, driving for an hour to get there and entertaining a 4 year old for the wait I wasn’t prepared to wait again.
We had driven a long way for a treat of lunch out but unfortunately won’t be visiting again after today’s experience.

Goodness me, it has got so expensive with less choice! We have been coming here for years and have been delighted with the additions of the play barn and the much needed seating area in the restaurant. However, the prices have gone through the roof! The play barn is the best around, however now EXTORTIONATE making it a very rare occasion! The restaurant building is beautiful, but the menu is so poor and really expensive. Where have the roast dinners / warm meals gone? It’s also impossible to have anything here beyond 3pm, why? The farm shop is equally as expensive, and the PYO is great but again, you’ve guessed it… expensive! I hate feeling ripped off and I do when I come here now. Such a shame after many loyal years of visiting. We will be visiting a lot less frequently, if at all.

I love visiting millets for their garden centre, farm shop and visits to the animals but I'm increasingly saddened by the state of the Rhea at the back of the farm.

People keep poking and prodding at them despite the fact that those type of birds do not like human interaction and they spend a lot of their time with their feather's raised and walking the fence to defend their territory.

I love ratite birds (Ostriches being my favourite) and love seeing the Rhea but I would rather they were somewhere they felt relaxed and comfortable, not in constant stress of ignorant families who think it's okay to bother them.

You need to put a smaller fence on the inside of the paddock to keep them away from poking fingers.

Extremely rude and arrogant staff. I am not surprised why so many people said the same. People must be visiting this place as there are not many places open during pandemic otherwise nothing special and still very expensive. They advertise themselves to be child friendly but not child friendly at all. I would never go there again and waste my valuable time.

Very impressed with the facilities here, we don’t have anything like this where we live but if we were local we would be regular visitors. Lovely grounds to walk around and all the staff we encountered were pleasant. We didn’t eat in the cafe but the menu looked reasonable enough that if we were staying for lunch we would have eaten there.

The animals appear well kept and plenty to see for little ones.

Sadly a very terrible experience at Millets Farm Restaurant.
At the door we were told that the breakfast was no longer serving however the lunch was ok to order, which was fine to us. I had my 22 months old daugher and my husband with me who were very hungry, I went to till to order our food and we were not allowed to order neither lunch or breakfast. I asked to order a sandiwch as my child was crying and hungry, the lady at the till said she could not order anything for us as they were busy and still serving breakfast.I sugeest only to order and wait in my table, she said I cant do that either to you. I mentioned that a member of staff at the door said MIlleest farm restaurant were serving lunch, she denied(basically none of them), and it seems to be a mess if you are unable to serve either. She suggested to talk to her manager, and after another 10 mins waiting at the till and my child upset crying, the manager which she said to be called Andrea" never turned up. We left without an apology, without any food and I found it disgraceful and disrespectful.I don't recommend and I don't wish no one to have the same awful experience.

Sorry to hear about this experience it sounds to me like a break down in communication. We have been incredibly busy lately and, due to the cap we have to put on numbers, there have often been long waits on food.

We have visited Milletts Farm several times in the past, but not for a long while, due to the covid pandemic.
They have been very busy making improvements.  Both cafe's have been updated, the main one next to the Farm Shop has been given a huge refurbishment, it seemed much larger and able to accommodate more tables, whilst still remaining covid safe.
The smaller café in the garden centre has more than doubled in size.
In both of the cafe's the staff are very covid aware, you are shown to a table which has been thoroughly cleaned after the last occupants, given a menu, then only one person goes to place your order. Your order is then delivered to your table. I was very impressed with the number of staff, all controlled by  the most efficient manageress I have ever come across.
I would like to say a huge "well done" to them and her.
I think that there was less on the menu than previously, but still enough choices. I chose the burger which was delicious. As was the coffee.
The garden centre itself is still well stocked with gardening products and plants.  There is also clothing, shoes, kiddies toys & gifts & cards.
The farm shop is as good as ever,  with delicious produce, meat, cheese, bakery products, deli, etc, etc.
There are still the other shops on site, the clothing tent & the crafts.
There is alot happening for children, with bug week, a maze a very good play area, I believe that they still have the small animals.
I also have to mention the newly refurbished toilets,  they have been done to such a high standard, they wouldn't look out of place in a top hotel.
To conclude,  it's not just a garden centre but a day out for all the family. I highly recommend a visit.
