About
The Mont Lozère is a stupendous bar of granite of massive dimension. This magnificent highland overlooks the planes of the langudeoc and the méditerranean sea. Narrow valleys where terraces, supported by low walls, extended arable plots as high as possible up the mountain side. Low valleys where crystal clear water flows, and rocky moutains top this beautifus countryside.

Andre Gauche and family left this town in 1690 for the Cape of Good Hope. We (my family and I) managed to return to the town in 1990. What a wonderful experience to visit the living town of your ancestors. 300 years later, 9 generations and lots of changes. For one we speak Afrikaans, our family name changed to Gouws and our French is almost non existing. Lovely town in beautiful natural surroundings. Gorges du Tarn picturistique.

In this French small village, the Tourist Rep was very helpful and spoke perfect English! He took the time to direct us to our hotel.
