Our group of three couples were having our holiday in Italy in a villa just a few kilometers from Cabernadi so the sulphur museum and visit to the old mines and processing factory were not to be missed. Having had a number of email exchanges with the local tourist office in Sassoferatto they suggested a 'private' tour for the six of us at a cost only marginally more than the total would have been. Well worth it to get a much fuller explanation from enthusiastic people (speaking excellent English). The old mine and processing factory closed down in the 1950s. The photos and videos from that era show how grueling the work was and how hazardous to health (of humans, animals and plants) from the non-stop fumes of sulphur that cloaked everything.

We had a long and very detailed visit to the park and the museum. Very interesting to see this piece of industrial story of Italy. Highly recommended also for kids, very competent guides!

In just under two hours, we visited the Museum, the Cabernati Park and, on the advice of the guide Valentina, also the Canterino Village. To better understand the history of the miners and the mine, I recommend making all these stops. the staff is very kind and prepared. While they explain the history of these places to you, you can perceive how much respect and dedication there is towards the territory and the people who wrote history here.

guided tour and very interesting museum, at least for me who come from a family "mining2 and lived my first 20 years in a mine. The only really out of tune note is the Guide's aversion (a young lady of not excellent mining preparation, given the terms she used) towards Montecatini (a company that has managed the mine for the last 40 years or so) forgetting, in her continuous unpleasant quote, that: 1- all industrial companies must earn, they are not charitable companies; 2- the work in the mine was very hard by its nature, especially at that time when mechanization was almost non-existent, but the working conditions at Montecatini were considerably better than those in the mines owned by others; 3- Montecatini brought a lot of wealth to that area, because the wages of the miners were much higher than the earnings of other jobs in the area (agriculture and pastoralism); 4- when one leaves and closes he brings all the things of his property that he needs; it applies to Montecatini as well as to the young lady who has been our Guide, if he leaves home and moves.

Guided tour of the sulfur mine lasting about an hour which is truly worth the price of the ticket.
The guide was a girl named Miriam who was knowledgeable and explained the life of the miners in a simple way

Particular industrial reality of which the suffering of mining work is unknown. The site and the history surrounding it are interesting, very well described by our excellent guide Silvia. Definitely worth a visit. It is hoped that the area will be expanded with more details.

Very interesting experience! Both the mine tour and the museum are very well organised. It is a little-known little jewel that tells us the story of this large and important sulfur mine in the Marche region. A young girl named Silvia guided us impeccably.

I wasn't aware of it but there is the possibility for a few euros to take a guided tour of the Cabernardi sulfur mine. Sara is a very good and very helpful guide who will tell you a curious and fascinating story not so far from us about this mine and its workers. To conclude with the connected Museum. Very interesting!
