The place is a wonderful water fall, located between Mukono and Lugazi, off the Jinja road for about 3-5 kms. The distance of the place from the capital city Kampala is around 35-40 kms.
The place is so isolated, so fresh and so quiet where you can enjoy the view of the falls falling from a small hill down to the Sezibwa River. The facilities are not so good and feels like a village but place is so green that you can feel the freshness. One can choose to stay overnight in a cottage or owned tents. One can also prepare some food there by just paying a little amount to caretakers.
The falls is a nice place where a two streams of water merges on the top of the hill and joins the main river. You can do a little tracking up to the hill and watch the fall from there. There is a small bridge on top of the hill where you can pass and cover the entire area by walking around. Also, the gardens are so good, seating arrangements are good and one can really enjoy the personal time as there are not many visitors. In my words, I call it mini-murchison falls.
I would recommend this to visitors who like the green beauty of Uganda.

Great place to relax after a long week of work. Fresh air from the city, lush green trees. It’s an eccentric vibrant park

At the resort you will be welcomed at the large parking area that the resort boasts by the friendly staff. One of the things that are impressive about the guides is how knowledgeable they are of the area. As soon as you have paid the pocket friendly entry fee you are given a quick run through the history of the place and the activities available there.
Sezibwa means ‘it can’t be blocked’. It is a tourism and cultural site with a lot to see and do for nature lovers. It is 200 metres at the point where the water drops then it continues its flow and finally empties at Lake Kyoga.
With 135 bird species in the area, it a bird lover’s paradise for those who enjoy bird watching. The birds that can be seen include the Mourning Dove, African Harrier Hawk, African Pied Wagtail, Mouse birds and Sunbirds. An early morning guided walk with the knowledgeable guide gives you a chance to spot some of the birds available in this area. You can also enjoy a three hour forest walk which gives you the chance to learn about the many trees that can be seen in the surrounding area including their medicinal value. Primate and Butterfly viewing are still other activities available at Sezibwa Resort with about 20 butterfly species to be seen there. You can also go for mountain biking and boat riding.
For the adventurous, climbing to the top of the falls and watching the water drop down from the bridge that has been constructed at the top is an activity you would not want to miss. The resort has large camping grounds which can accommodate both big and small groups. Since it is still under construction, camping is the only form of accommodation available. There is a restaurant which has available both local food and snacks. However these have to be ordered in advance so as to be prepared early.
Alternatively, if you plan to spend a full day at this excellent tourist attraction, you can pack your own food and drinks which can be enjoyed on the large camping grounds available.
Sezibwa Falls Resort is next to Sezibwa Falls which is a 45 minutes drive from Kampala, along the excellent Jinja-Kampala highway. After Kayanja trading center on the highway, turn right onto a murram road and drive for another 1.5 km before you reach the falls. Activities at Sezibwa Falls Resort include nature guided walks, bird watching, Primate walks, camping, boat riding and mountain biking. For day or camping tours to Sezibwa Falls Resort

Such an interesting cultural site. Ssezibwa falls was born as a twins River to a human mother who was known as Nakkungu Tebatuusa on her way to Kavuma Bunkunja, were she gave birth on her way this is also where her twin is said to have flowed towards her mother's village in the East and Sezibwa flowing to the west side.

Ssezibwa falls is obviously one of the best eco-tourism destination in Uganda. The same day I visited Ssezibwa falls, I had an opportunity to visit the source of the Nile just to compare the two experiences. Ssezibwa falls came out distinct in every way because of the quietness, stillness and the natural environment around the place.
It is one of the few places that have not been tempered with in quest of developing it as a tourism site. Thus do not expects drinks, snacks, food or anything that is not the falls in this place. If you came with such an expectation, you will only be setting yourself up for a disappointment yet the scenery of these falls is exceptional.

Just discovered this nice little stop on the way to the source of the Nile. It is hidden by the sugar plantations, and no signage from the road, we were lucky to have a driver who was in the know....it was a nice little detour, and I recommend the stop.

All I can say is, it's a Nice place to stop after a long Safari weekend in eastern Uganda, view the mysterious and fascinating waterfall, walk around the woods before heading black to the city center for a more exciting Safari. It's like a desert after the main course 😊

If I want to visit sezibwa what's needed..in terms of transport like all fares
Written August 16, 2022
Hey Mugenyi, Visiting Ssezibwa Falls is one of the most interesting experiences along the Jinja highway. Infact it is a MUST stop over for most of the travellors and tourists. On average, I would say it depends on how long you want to be there, is it a day or do you want to carry your tent and camp for a night or two? Well if it is just a stop over, it will cost you about 10k entrance for a Ugandan and about 30k for a FR. If you are looking at a local tour provider, it will range from $100 to $250 which may include a visit to the Mabira Forest and the Griffin Falls ( Next closest attractions, which are better of combined with the package) transportation and meals. Rates may be lower if you are more than two people.
