A town of Art and HistoryMedieval city of ConflansTo enter Conflans by the “Porte de Savoie” is to enter into history. Streets and alleways have stayed the same as the time of the Green Count, Amédée VI, count of Savoy. On the Roman road from Milan to Vienna via the Petit Saint Bernard pass, Conflans witnessed the passage of merchants, peddlers, and pilgrims.Today, Conflans welcomes you all year round in its maze of narrow streets, on its shady terraces full of flowers, and in its colourful boutiques.

If you're passing Albertville and want somewhere to visit you could try the medieval village of Conflans. Head up the hill on the far side of the river and park on the public car park as access to the medieval part is only for people who live there. There are two or three restaurants and great views from the gardens.... More

Although not much to do, the views are excellent from this part of town. A few restaurants and a bar available, with enough choices for a meal for this small village on the hille.

The Medieval city is a nice short visit, you can walk from downtown Albertville ( but it's a half an hour walk) or you can park just on the boron of the city (and walk up). The village itself is small 6 streets if I'm not wrong, and it's not very old, I have seen some medieval villages that looks... More

My favorite place while I lived in Albertville. In the Spring all the grape vines are in bloom and you can see the whole valley.

The Streets of Conflans are an adventure. As you pass through the city gates you are steeped in time and get a wonderful feeling of the history of the town. The views back to Albertville are stunning. Sadly for us most of the shops were closed - we went early on a Sunday but wandering around the almost deserted streets... More

Conflans feels like it was caught in a time warp. Except for the occasional car, things haven't changed here for a very long time. We lived near here and really enjoyed visiting whenever it was possible. Great for a family outing or just a step back in time.

Stayed here for about 2 weeks in Le Cheval Blanc, a sweet little B&B in the center. When you come to Albertville you should definately visit Conflans! It's not the most exciting but the history behind the city is interesting and there is a few good restaurants to visit. Be warned however, you cannot get into the city with a... More

Conflans is a short but steep walk from Albertville centre, (or a short drive, with parking on the back end of the old city). The old city itself is not that great. Below average from my experience. But, there is a nice view of the city from the beautiful courtyard at the top of the old city and there are... More

We were only passing-by rather rapidly. After the summer season and on a Monday, most shops were closed, but we could guess the place must be much more lively at times. Beautiful village, though.

Really good value for money. We visited early in the afternoon when most of the other businesses were closed. The displays were interesting and well laid out and it was very useful to have the English language audio guide, which worked well. Pleasant welcoming staff. A great way to spend a rainy afternoon.
