If you for some reason are staying as a tourist in Digos city, or living here for a longer period for other reasons, there are some beaches just outside the city. One is Aplaya. That beach is quite small and not very inviting. It has a small pier, and the place is dominated by locals.. I would NOT swim in that particular area. If you go a bit more down south along the highway, approximately 1 km south of the Bus Terminal, you will find a nice paved road leading down to Dawis Beach. Dawis is a much more inviting beach. It has a large pier, and both local simple benches outside the Sari-Sari stores, and also several nice resorts with the typical huts that are for rent. The beach itself is used by the locals, and it is not very clean. Be careful not to step on glass in the sand. I would say that the place is the best in the area. Just beware of some of the boys there, who might be rude and demanding money from you for diverse reasons. Shame on them! They should make people feel welcome, as we feel everywhere else in the Philippines. I guess their parents should teach them some manners. Today, August 14, was my second trip there, and I will come again. The resort we wanted to enter was closed, according to the staff. Here is liquor ban, and probably there is not much business going on in those resorts, also due to social distancing etc.…

Regional Filipinos seem to be the worst polluting and downright rude people... Go for a swim with a diaper or get yelled out buy rude people hey Joe, hey dad. And so on.... Plus the annoying karaoke screaming rubbish music ruined otherwise nice place

If you visit Digos City don´t forget Dawis. City is not so beautiful, but go to Dawis. You can find some small cheap resorts here with a clean beach. You also can buy food in first resort you will see when you arrive Dawis. Tricycle from city cost 80 pesos. From bus terminal only 50 p…
