Our driver parked and we walked around this authentic little town and had some lunch. Spent a couple enjoyable hours here before continuing our drive to Banos. The town was clean, the locals colorful and friendly, and the architecture attractive. We were not able to stay for the train - you need to spend the night before to get on the 8:00 AM train. This is a good stopover if you are headed north.

If you like to stay in Alausi then take a walk around the village. After the 8 ó clock train walk in the centre for about 2 hours and then take a drink watching the 1 'o clock train coming back again. You even have some time to walk up to the statue. It is worthwhile staying the night for.
