- ClaireAdamMossIlfracombe, United Kingdom4,698 contributionsAmazing ViewsWe went on a rather blowy and cold rainy day and only stopped off en route so hadn't looked into our visit beforehand. The views are fabulous and there are so many routes you can take and then stop off to have some refreshments in the pub. The only thing letting the area down is the lack of information on the rich history and the lives lived at Hamm Hill. There are a few boards giving basic information but it was only on returning that we looked into the history and boy what a history it is! We will come back in the warmer months and enjoy Ham Hill in all it's glory!Visited January 2023Written January 14, 2023
- 834rogerGreater London, United Kingdom51 contributionsWonderful views, walks and historySuper walks around the hill and surrounding fields - ideal for children or dog walking. This is an outstandingly beautiful' park' with long views over Somerset (it is possible to see Glastonbury on a good day!) Parking can be tricky as this place is so popular, but there are lots of options. The walks are very varied and its interesting to be able to see the areas where the Ham stone has been quarried since Roman times. There are also signs of iron age and medieval terraced farming on the Montecute side of the Hill - looking towards the nearby wooded Montecute hill.Visited August 2022Written August 29, 2022
- NeetanooDawlish, United Kingdom145 contributionsA lovely country parkThe road to Ham Hill Country Park is very narrow in places and as people both walk, cycle and horse ride up there it's a good idea to drive slowly to the car park. The view at the top is breathtaking and well worth a stop. Many just sit and take in the environment. The Prince of Wales pub is across the road. Selling cups of tea and ice creams and of course alcohol. A nice social place to sit and chat. I think many people meet up here for an hour. Will go back again for another long walk around.Visited June 2021Traveled as a coupleWritten June 28, 2021
- MC_PetCPontypool, United Kingdom25 contributionsMy legs hurtWe were pointed here while staying in the area with our dog. "It's a great place to walk your dog" they said. What they didn't say was just how large an area it covers. After meeting yet another friendly couple of locals who didn't mind our dog requisitioning their dog's ball and the subsequent running about I think we broke our dog. After the climb up and down to the monument this exertion was too much and upon arrival at the Prince of Wales pub he collapsed to the floor and looked to all appearances to be a well behaved dog, barely lifting his head to acknoweldge a fellow canine. The next day he looked as good as new but sadly my legs refused to work.Visited March 2020Written March 15, 2020
- John DoeUkiah, California13 contributionsDecent views.I visited here to get some views of the surrounding landscapes. You can certainly see some from here. On a beautiful day, or dreary, the views are decent. I tried to follow the trail to the monuments, but found myself a bit lost on a couple of occasions, I feel the signage needs updating (above foot-height!) and increasing. The grass couple be better maintained too. There was a lot of dog poo in parts, so for me in my sandles, that was a draw back.Visited August 2023Traveled soloWritten August 22, 2023
- Pauline H3 contributionsJust 10 mins from the A303!If you want to break your journey to Cornwall, Ham Hill Country Park is a great place to stop. Just 10 mins from the A303 and you can walk the dogs, have a picnic and let the kids charge around to let off steam. The views are amazing!Visited August 2014Written August 20, 2014
- BryanW52Salisbury, United Kingdom44 contributionsStupendous viewsCalled in to Ham Hill to walk our dog on the way down to the West Country for as few days - and what a find it was! With stupendous views across the countryside you can see why the location was chosen as a hill fort by our ancestors. When you have had enough of the views, the wildlife, the bracing walks and the history you can refuel in the dog-friendly Prince of Wales pub. Both park and pub are well worth a visit and likely to become a regular stopping-off point when we head west.Visited April 2016Written April 29, 2016

Returned to my car to find that it had been broken into by car thieves. Ham Hill is a hot spot for this type of crime. You have been warned.... Pity, because it is a pretty place with nice views, just not worth the risk of returning unfortunately.Visited July 2016Traveled soloWritten July 27, 2016
