A beautiful and stirring place from where one receives Protection and Peace.
Externally and internally an appealing and ornate structure.
Short walking distance Roma Termini Station.
Entrance to the main Basilica has no charge.

We were fortunate as where we were staying was just a couple of blocks away. If you love gorgeous Basilica interiors this one is not to be missed.

Be prepared to be awed upon entering the Basilica because the outside doesn’t do it justice. The murals and craftsmanship are amazing and it’s work could never be replaced. Please note that this is an active church and masses and confessions are being preformed so take care and show respect.

The Basilica is another one of those fabulous landmark Rome buildings that you need to stand in front of and admire.

Originally built in the 5th century, it was refurbished several times and now holds a baroque interior but some old features still remaining such as roman columns and mosaics

A Basilica - one of the biggest in Rome - so full of things to see that you never get tired of it. Sooo beautiful. A lot of history. Incredible. Too much for a simple post. A definite must.

This is another of the top 10 churches to visit in Florence, and there is plenty to see. The days in which EU citizens over 65 could gain excess to Italian state museums for free are now past, but unusually this is one location where senior citizens can at least get a reduction on the entrance fee. However, you must show some proof of identity with your date of birth, so a passport or E111 card is essential.

a beautiful museum inaugurated by john paul the second. filled with the most amazing works of art from The carrying of the Cross by Giovanni Antonio Bazzi to the portico's set with precious gems in the mosaics in the southeast part of the basillica.. i would suggest that you first queue to get in to the vatican then once inside go immediately to book for the papal museum booking a time of at least 2/3 hours from the very moment that you are stood there as you will need a few hours to see everything here before going out and around the city walls to the museum.
