One of a few tour companies on the Caroni swamp. Nanans seems to be well established and reliable. We called a couple of hours before the 4pm departure and got seats. They carry larger groups. Our boat had about 40 people. Guide/boatman was knowledgeable. It costs TT$ 60 per person. Get to the swamp departure area by 3:30pm. Boats leave... More

Went on trip with my adult daughter and son-in-law. Fairly easy to find and very quick jouney from West point of Trinidad as we went on Boxing Day. Very popular tour (extremely well explained over the phone). Parking right next to the jetty. Only $60 tt each fir 2.5 hour tour. Went off early at 3.45pm so we only waited... More

We were in Port of Spain for a 5 day cricket test match that got called off because of just 2 hours of rain (bad Stadium facilities). So we were left with 4 sunny days with little to do. Through tripadvisor, we found Nanan tours. First we called to ask about the Caroni swamp tour. The phone was answered right... More

I have taken this tour 4 or 5 times over the past few years. It is a great tour. Nanan's is very helpful and accommodating. The guides are extremely knowledgable and good at spotting animals. It is very reasonably priced. I will definitely do it again on my next trip to Trinidad. I am still hoping to spot a silky... More

I lived in Trinidad for four years, some 30'odd years ago, but had never been on this fascinating two and a half hour + tour. Details of this have been covered by others on this site; but a couple of points: the "gubernator"/ guide was only visible and audible when necessary. Those of us in the boat were allowed, for... Had a stopover in Port of Spain from 2.30 pm to 9.00 pm and decided to use their services. They booked me on the telephone. When I existed the arrivals area, there was a taxi waiting for me. He was real good and spoke English. He drove us to the Bird Sanctuary. We started the tour in the boat at... More

Excellent tour of the Caroni Swamp. The guide was very knowledgable and informative. He spoke loud and clear so all could here. Great experience.

We took the afternoon Caroni tour to see the ibises and herons return to their evening roost. It was a lovely sunny afternoon and the trip to the main lake was enjoyable with many birds and water boas to see on the way. We even got good views of the Ibis in the mangroves. However this all paled into insignificance... More

Wow! This tour takes visitors on a boat ride through the Caroni Swamp to an island containing its main attraction - The Scarlet Ibis. As tour guides line boats up for viewing, birds begin to arrive. White birds glide in just over the water, scarlet birds soar in from the sky above. In a matter of minutes, a lush green... More
