Nicer with a few tweaks
Sep 2021 • Solo
Nice place but…..
Hired a lodge at brokereswood, stayed in the paddocks stretch. check in and out very easy. Superior lodge, bigger living area than a comfort plus so if many of you, opt for the superior! Lodge was clean and well kept. To make this accommodation even better the mattress for the bed should be replaced. You can feel the springs and this is not the most comfortable nights sleep! The kitchen would benefit from extra couple of sets of dinnerware and cutlery and maybe a better welcome basket rather then tea bags and coffee/sugar/ milk sachets put into a mug.
Decking and Hot tub were great! Easy to use and checked by staff! Would definitely recommend a lodge with a hot tub!
Places such as Bath (30 mins away) white horse, Longleat Safari park, clay hill, shearwater lake ( great for a walk in the woods) within 15 mins mins drive, so there are things to do near by. Supermarkets 15 mins away so easy to stock up when you get there! Two restaurants that I would highly recommend. Indian temptation in Bath, fully vegetarian restaurant with tasty food especially the chilli paneer and the temptation nann. The second Castello in
Warminster -15 mins drive from the lodge with nice Italian food!

Overall a nice place, but with just a few tweaks would make this even better!

Holiday Park ONLY
Sep 2021 • Family
We visited thinking it was a country park with walks, cafe and play area. It was only a Holiday Park. There is still a website for the country park but this is out of date.

Lovely surroundings, dirty lodge
Oct 2020 • Friends
Peaceful surroundings amongst the woodland. Idea for relaxing woodland walks and bird spotting. Lodge was spacious, although dirty with mould in the en suite bathroom, shampoo and conditioner on the ceiling that you could rub your fingers through, the extractor fan In the en-suite was covered in dust and not been cleaned for a while, grouting on the en suite was black, there was dust, cobwebs and dead flies in the tops of the windows over looking the hot tub that was visible and clearly not been cleaned for a while. A plug socket in a twin bedroom did not work properly and there was no seal around the main bathroom shower causing the floor to flood.
I approached reception on 17.10.20 and the young girl said “ we are aware of the damp but can’t do anything about it as it’s fully booked” when I said about the shampoo and conditioner left on the ceiling she said “I’m sorry about that” no offer of cleaning, even though I offered photos which she didn’t wish to see. The seal of the other shower is apparently on order.
The group I was in was extremely disappointed by this response and I was shocked at the lack of customer care and the personable approach received.
For a lodge that we paid nearly £550 for the standard of cleaning was poor especially in the time of supposed deep cleaning due to Covid.

SUMMER STAYCATION
Aug 2020
Six of us stayed in a three bed mobile home for a week . Very comfortable although third bedroom suitable only for children . Plenty of room in living area. Well cleaned before we arrived. Large hot tub on balcony well used by all. Facilities restricted due to virus but enjoyed an afternoon canoeing on lake. Close to Stonehenge and Avebury and Longleat safari park.

Beautiful Lodges but customer service needs work on.
Dec 2019 • Family
We stayed for the NYE break. 4 nights stay in a platinum lodge for 6 people with 2 dogs

The lodge was lovely and kept to a high standard and had everything we needed.

The hot tubs are well cared for what is nice to see and checked daily.

The part is amazing for walks. Our dogs loved them.

We loved the stay so much we went to book it again for next NYE as there welcome book said you get 10% off if you book again.

This is where the customer services was not very good.

We visited the office with the price of the cabin and dates we got off the hoeseasons web site. The girls in the office didn’t seem to know how to do it as they said the dates didn’t show up on there system. They said they will get someone to call that evening.

No call so popped in the office again before the end of our visit to be told we will definitely get a call later on that evening to book. No call again.

One last try, we called the office when home and was told again we get a call back to book and to look out for our a e mail. Unfortunately no call or e mails as promised.

Would definitely been worth 5 stars trip advisor as such a beautiful park to stay. But I feel the customer service has let it down.

This is now a holiday lodge chalet park. It is no longer open to the public. It is owned now by the Hauffryn group. There are a few touring pitches, but the vast majority are semi permanent wooden clad mobile homes.

Brokerswood holiday park

We stayed in a vip pod and that itself was great. Could do with hooks and shelves but that’s just being picky. Our hot tub was great. One next door was always at 34 deg!!
From googling the place we looked around for the play park etc. The path was actually the line from the former mini railway as there was still the sleepers there. The lake is a nice walk around with a few former bbq areas close together. Other side of lake to where pods are!! Last couple of days getting woken up around 07:30 for workmen dogging some kind of new road within the trees. That we didn’t mind too much.
The big one was the code for the gate. On first arrival we were behind another car and followed them in. Was t u til the next day a woman came up to the gate and asked if were staying there. She then told us the code. Even car behind didn’t know the code.
Yes the site is going more pods and lodges. Little things could improve this

No more day visits

Closed to day visitors permanently. It is now a holiday lodge site with a few touring pitches. The former woodland play area etc has gone for ever. Shame.

I must admit, I got this at a very reasonable price and given the disclaimer about building work on site, I was a little suspicious. However it mostly proved to be unfounded. The park is set in nice woodland around a lake . It appeared to be understandably popular with schools for the learning activities offered. We were woken by building 'noise' on day 1 at 8.05 am which wasn't ideal. However this didn't continue. I believe that more lodges are being built. I wouldn't let it stop me from booking but I wouldn't also be surprised if people did experience further noise. The disclaimer says that building work isn't taking place near the lodges and it's true you can't really see signs of it but I would still be cautious if you are a light sleeper. I don't especially want to get up at 8.05 on my holiday but it might not trouble others. The lodge we stayed in was excellent. Apart from a (reported) unsightly coffee/tea stain in the bedroom, the décor is lovely and I would review it highly.
One word of warning on the hot tub (which we have fed back) - the starting temperature was 34. As you can't get in until 4, there isn't enough time left for you to crank this up and feel the benefit. 34 isn't nearly warm enough and so I think if people are booked into the lodges then the default temperature should at least be 37. This wasn't a problem for day 2 onwards but a bit disappointing on day 1 when you are on a 4 night break. That said, none of this would stop me from saying it's one of the best lodges and lodge breaks we have enjoyed. Very nicely positioned between major attractions such as Bath/Wells/Cheddar Gorge/Glastonbury.

No longer open to public?
Feb 2018 • Couples
We visited on11th Feb. We’ve been when we were younger but were unable to get to the woods this time. It was all shut up and there was a sign saying it’s now a private holiday company - so we think unless you are staying there you can’t access anymore.
