About
Europe's largest fresh-water aquarium system Within the walls of the Lake Tisza Ecocentre you can step into an amazing underwater world and marvel the region's native fish species in the largest fresh-water aquarium system of Europe with a capacity of over 735,000 litres on level -1 and -2 in the main building. The inner aquariums are directly connected to an artificial lake next to the building, so they form a complex of huge freshwater system. You will be inspired by more than 40 native Hungarian fish species, among them pikes, wels catfish or carps. It is difficult to decide, but maybe our most spectacular inhabitants are the fishes of sturgeon family: european, diamond and starry sturgeons.

    Nem tudtunk betelni vele
Egsész napos, esőfüggetlen programot szerettem volna szervezi a Kislányomnak. Környékbeli barátaimtól kaptam ezt az ötletet. örökké hálás leszek nekik! Nem vagyok biztos abban, hogy az öt éves kislányom, vagy az 54 éves jómagam élvezte jobban a programokat! Be sem tudtunk telni a rengeteg látnivalóval. Számtalan kisebb-nagyobb helyszínen rengeteg izgalmas és minket érdeklő aktivitással várt a helyszín. Bővebbet a fotók mellett igyekszem mondani. A parkolás a központ előtt ingyenes. A belépők két felnőttnek és egy kisgyereknek 5000 körüli összegbe kerültek. Nagyon megérteí!

    Tökéletes program a természet kedvelőinek

The exhibition was a good experience for the whole family (2 and 6 year-old children), the aquarium is excellent, the playing room also. The only problem is the staff's behaviour, especially the woman who sells tickets. Not a good entry :((

We travelled to the Tisza Tavi Ökocentrum with so much excitement, after reading lot of nice things about it, we couldn't wait to experience the Nature Walk on the lake and boatride. Unfortunatelly at the gate/cashier there was a not so kind, not so helpful lady when we got there, but let us know that there is no more boatride that day. After buying the tickets we figured out that we won't be able to enjoy the walk "on the lake" either. We still don't know the reason, but our only guess was the "late arriving" (5pm).
The building is nice, aquariums are interesting, view from the tower is great.
The walk on the mainland made us sad and upset at the same time. Some of the animals live in such a small cage/place, that I felt like it was torture for them. eg. kingfisher

Could be so much better with more devoted personnel and mindful management.

The grounds on which the Eco-Center lies are worth the visit. Great chance for a good long walk. Our only problem was within the main building where the exhibits and aquarium etc. are. The while building has only one single lift--- to take you up 7 floors! There are things to see on almost every floor but..... because my husband is wheelchair-bound we could not use the stairs, only the lift. We spent much more time waiting for the lift on every floor than we spent in the whole building! It was very, very frustrating standing at the lift door on every level only to find the lift full of people every time the door opened. Of course nobody offered to take the stairs and let us on to the lift :( It really was very annoying. One lift is definately not enought for a building this size. We did not book a boat ride, because of the wheelchair, but they wouldn't even let us throught the gate to look at the lake unless we buy a ticket (for the boat...)
All in all, it is not really a disabled-friendly place to visit.

The location is very nice. It is flat, water is around and huge amounts of birds and other beings. In the building one can see them close up in tanks and there is a huge one where there are Belugas swimming around. One can learn some things as well. Good with or without kids.
The length of the visit depends on whether you make a tour on the water or ice or not. 1-3 hours can be spent there without any tour outside dependent on the curiosity of one.

An interesting place to visit if you are nearby, the aquarium certainly has a lot of fish that would keep you busy for a couple of hours. Animals on the other hand are kept in such small enclosures, and you can see the suffering in their eyes. The deer for example was ramming the gate because it was so hungry!. We managed to calm it down with some fresh grass. Some of the staff were really unprofessional. One staff member who was supposed to present a bird was so rude with the audience, it felt as if he is lecturing instead of entertaining. One more thing, better eat before going there as the buffet had about 3 sandwiches of unknown origin.

A nice modern and new building. They still have plenty of space to expand their exhibition though and some more information in english would not hurt at all, but that is the case for most places around here. Nice aquarium with underwater tunnel. You can also buy a ticket for a gps-guided boad trip you take yourself or a 3D movie. Nice park outside as well.

We went to see the aquarium which was the main attraction, I've been told. It's pretty good, well built, however, just mid-sized. The kids really enjoyed it. Despite the bad weather we could take a walk in the park as well, which was also enjoyable. There's a huge playground and a small adventure park (a lake with adventure boats and bridges to climb). The place is a must have if you're in the area.

Fresh-water aquarium is worthwhile to see, though it could have done without the otters. Also terrariums with frogs, snakes around. Outside play area for kids. Mostly good educational. However the need to have a buzzard caged - there is improvement possible. Also With respect to non-H visitors....despite EU financing tens of million euro not even for aquaria and terrariums e.g.english text ( there's only audio for foreigners) - pretty meager.

The large sweet water aquarium is probably the main attraction, and it is interesting indeed. On the negative side - we were charged the full ticket price, while parts of the place (e.g. children's playroom) were inaccessible, due to a hunting conference.

Nice aquarium, but the guides were totally unprofessional. I left one of the presentations when the lady started of reading the slides, and introduced the "ugliest animals" of the Earth. Sooo for the effect.
