My husband and I have visited twice now, once for a pottery day and once for a Raku experience. Both times we found ourselves surrounded by not only an amazingly beautiful and tranquil venue, but skilled and friendly potters who shared their passion for the ancient craft. We'll definitely be returning.

An amazing inner experience for those seeking to pass through life while life passes through you. The place is a peaceful retreat founded in the 13th century, it combines, history, culture, nature, people, and a very special blessed place with friendly priest and people.

Held every month, this is a great way of introducing children to pottery. As a parent, I was a little apprehensive about my four year old attending in terms of both concentration and using the tools. The assistance and inspiration provided was strong and kept my daughter engaged. We left with ideas for future projects and will be going back in the future. We have also books an adults course. I’ve already recommended to our friends,

I was given a day course with Aylesford Pottery & School of Ceramics as a Christmas present and it was well worth the wait! We went as a couple and joined a group of 10 to learn Japanese Raku pottery techniques. The day ran from 10am - 4pm in one of their well-equipped workshops; we had Alan teach us who was great fun, patient and gave us a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It was a nicely paced day, split between decorating the pots and their time in the kiln. We had a number of glazes to experiment with, decorative stencils and shapes of pot and everyone left with 5 hand-glazed pieces (photos attached of our examples). The gift shop is so tempting, the prices are extremely reasonable and the work is testament to how talented the potters are. The Pottery is located on site at Aylesford Priory which is a beautiful place to explore on the lunch break. Fantastic 5* experience and would absolutely recommend as a day out for families, friends or couples.
