This temple is still developing.. There are separate building for tonsuring cost 30each..For taking bath, bathrooms are there.. But not cleaning.. Near by some water canal is there..we can use it.. For dharshan Rs 250, 25 and free dharshan..They are improving temple infrastructure.. Be careful some local people misguide you in the name of direct dharshan.. Archanai ticket cost 5 Rs.. Do not buy any coconut and other archanai related set.. Priest is not considering it because of croud

I have visited Mariamman temple at Samayapuram with my parents, the deity Mariamman was most powerful. Most of the people visit this temple for good health, the deity of this temple is the protector from all the diseases. Generally in South India, if anyone suffers from Chicken Pox, Small Pox etc., their family members offer pooja & prayers at the nearby Mariamman temple and there is a belief that it will get cured soon. Similarly many people do offer prayers & poojas at this temple for good health.

The maintenance of the temple was really good, crowds were well organised. Special dharshan ticket was available for Rs.25. We really had a good dharshan at the temple.

This temple is one of the best temples which has remained in my memory. The darshan was peaceful and excellent. They have a well organized queues. Temple is well maintained & clean to an extent considering the huge devotees. There are lot of good hotels to eat & stay. Stay hotels are budget ones & truly worth for what we pay. I am trying to get another opportunity to visit this temple again. Truly memorable !

Sri Mariamman the presidng diety is compassion personified , the second most visited temple in Tamil Nadu after Palani . The moola vigraga is made of herbs hence abishekam is only for the ursava murthy . Mother is a vara prasaddhi any sincere prayer is immediately answered . Accommodation is available at Thiruvanaikaval , Trichy and Srirangam . Distance from these places should be roughly 20 kms. The temple is open from 6 a.m to 9 p.m . Fridays and Sundays are highly crowded . Adhi month is also crowded . Amust visit for any devotee .

Mother Goddess Mariyamman Temple is in Samayapuram close to Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu. The idol is made up of sand and clay. Infact that is how many of the traditional Mariyamman idols are prepared or made, particularly in Tamil Nadu. Because of these contents a mini idol made of panchaloha is kept in front of the main statue and the bathing and other functions are done to it as it is presumed to be the service done to the main deity.

I have been visiting this shrine whenever I went Ayyappaswami yathra since 1980s. At that time the place was not as clean as it is at present. The devotees used to cut the chicken right in front of the main entrance but there is a separate arrangement now. Normally for every Mariyamma the chicken, sheep or goats are sacrificed. That means these Mariyammas are non-vegetarian spirits.

The sweet dish payasam made of jaggery, rice and ghee is offered to deity. Salt is offered by placing it at Dwajastambha by the rural devotees.
The devotees throng in thousands on Tuesdays, Fridays, Sundays and on festival days. The temple authorities claim that Samayapuram Mariyamman is the second wealthiest (in terms of cash flow) temple following Palani in Tamil Nadu. There is confusion in its history as there is no clear data about its origin. Yet the locals have been worshipping this Goddess for many centuries before renovation and reconstruction of the present structure. The devotees believe that She is a powerful god who always come to their rescue at the crucial point of time.

The district head quarter Tiruchi city is yet another place of historical, religious and tourist centre. Travelling, food and accommodation are well taken care of by the State buses, Trains and private vehicles, hotels and luxury lodges in the city.

When you go to Tiruchi or Srirangam you can visit this shrine as it is close to both these cities.

We have been to this temple about 2-3 times and everytime I feel the Goddess there is one of the most beautiful I have seen till now. She is supposed to be the fiery Mariamman but you feel so calm when you see her. The temple is crowded most days so taking special tickets maybe a good idea. Be careful about the hawkers on the way to the temple. If you have any special offerings, suggest that you buy elsewhere and bring along with you. The hawkers will play on your sentiments by saying that one offering should not be made without the other offerings. You are of course on safe ground if you are very sure about the offering to be made:-)

Very ancient and traditional Tamil god and temple. The temple is still kept the same way for years.

The surroundings is very badly kept. Too many shops and lack of amenities make this temple very hard to visit and explore. Special entrance is Rs. 250, though expensive, it makes the visit little better.

All hardships are forgotten when we look at Goddess Mariamman. The administration can do a lot of work in improving the surroundings. Clearing the shops around the temple itself will be a great step.

Looking forward to visiting next time, hopefully the temple surroundings will be better then.

From thirupattur once you come to siruganur main road (NH45) hire a taxi 300re or else wait for the town bus 7re becos taxi will stop a k.m far whereas town bus stops near the entrance of the temple. once you get down be calculative to keep your footwear. there are 4 entrances to the temple confusing --you will enter through one gate exit will be different gate I suffered walking on the fare foot in the hot sun (no slipper shop even to buy one) I usually prefer to do some amount of physical exertion while going to temple because spending money by going in a luxury way which most can do but worrying your body to get the blessings of God -(-those days rishis worship by withstanding all sufferings-) is awesome! that day was like thee methithal for me . (walking on the firewood during Mariamman festival) there is a counter for 100re dharsan and free one since no crowd I took free one some amount of renovation work is going on for chithrai thiruvizha they had put rope line which goes on -on--on never ended like then they sell archanai ticket which no guru is bothered to do any Archana only they accepted my 101 lemon garland that's it . in spite of all these troubles once you see the goddess sitting in graceful posture everything got vanished
