About
Little rustic bar hidden in the hills of Brittany. Main trade: a selection of Breton artisanal beers complemented by the best whisk(e)ys and my personal lifelong eclectic music selection/collection (no hip hop/rap). Wood burner. Cradle of Breton beers (together with Ty Coz, Morlaix & Chez Tom, Lesneven) and the largest music festival in France, the 'Vielles Charrues' in Carhaix. Live Irish music the first sunday of every month.

An "institution" in the heart of a charming Breton village! In the colour of Wales, the Coreff flows afloat in this bar, in a relaxed atmosphere worthy of English pubs. Elise, the boss, reigns over this little world, all in kindness, simplicity and generosity. We linger at Ty Elise and come back!

Good ambiance, good music. A real find and well worth making a deviation to the village to visit. one visited, never forgotten. Thoroughly recommended. And, of course, it serves real ale.

Penydarren comes to Ploye. Byn moved over to Brittany many years ago, his place ha become a bit of a magnet for Celtic and non celtic peoples alike.

Triific pint of Coereff, the place has recently been massily renovated (the fact it burnt down made that a bit necessary)

Lovely pub that attracts the individualistic and eccentric, be prepared for anything because thats about what might happen.

One of those very unique places thats well worth diverting off the main drag to go and see.

I should add I have known Byn for a very long time, despite this he still lets me in his pub.

He is not buying me a beer for writing a positive review, and he owes me loads of beers over the years...

The guy of Welsh origin is a font of fascinating history and information. A living walking legend for bar hoppers. He listens and retorts to all conversation in Brettan, Welsh and most of all English. Well worth an hour of anyone’s time.

whilst stopping over on a visit from Normandy & staying in Plouye we stumbled across this quaint bar, welsh man serving local brews for the past many years very proud & probably quite excentric served an excellent stout very smooth & , & the amazing bit seemed to be that the village was in the middle of nowhere but supported three bars & small shop with fresh bread & the owners had a lovely cosy house via air BNB very private not expensive breakfast extra if required at no trouble & the hostess spoke fluent English although not mentioned on the site, highly recommended a good area for exploring the Breton countryside & beaches

We stumbled across the Tavarn Ty Elise whilst out on our bikes this summer and boy were we glad we stopped. Great locals, lots of them Welsh, obviously! and a very funny landlord too! We had a couple of pints of real ale which was great and served well. Good range of whiskies behind the bar so basically if your an ale and/or whisky drinker you're going to be very happy here. Lovely little bar and looking forward to returning next year :)

Excellent beer, excellent choice of music, and a landlord with a twist. I particularly liked the organic beer.
