Description:

One of the first true boutique wineries in Niagara, with vineyards first...

One of the first true boutique wineries in Niagara, with vineyards first planted in 1980, Thirty Bench has hit full stride in the last few years with the focus on small lots of low-yield handcrafted wines. The winery has earned numerous accolades, including Cuvée Gold (2011) and two consecutive top-10 finishes at the Canadian Wine Awards. Single-block, old-vine Rieslings are the soul of Thirty Bench; equally fine reds and Chardonnays have also emerged since the 2005 vintage. A visit to the wood-clad winery, or joining their mailing list, is the best way to access the winery's new and library wines.

Picturesque.....

A very lovely stop on our winery tour. Picturesque both inside and out. Wine was excellent, and our server was very nice. Would recommend.

Thirty Bench is a very popular stop for a wine tasting, and for good reason. The large windows provide a lovely view of the 'bench' all the way down to the water. The wines are well known and very nice. Many of them have won awards, and the winemaker was also recently recognised as top in her field. Due to... More

Great picturesque view from the tasting room. Fantastic wines and some especially good ones that can only be purchased from the winery. Great spot to spend an hour or so.

I loved the rustic feel of this winery, and in addition to their wines they offer a great gift idea in a two bottle carry bag with a cheese board and knife. Add two of their wines to the package and you have an instant house warming gift! Unfortunately, they only seem to offer tastings by the glass and we... More

Went here with my wife for a tasting. The building is nothing special. When we entered there were many tables setup for tastings, which is nice. Before we even sat down we were brought to the cashier to pay for the tastings we were going to have. That was the only winery (of 8) we visited which did that. All... More

Wines: Excellent wines. A lot of care and skill goes into the wines they make, and it shows. I prefer whites so focused most of my tastings on those, and they are excellent. The rieslings are special. I recommend trying all 4 (offerings may change each year). The small batch rieslings are very memorable and the "Wine Maker's" riesling (offered... More

We stopped here on our way to Niagara and it was a wonderful experience. The winery was busy on Saturday afternoon, however, we were welcomed by the lovely staff to help us with our Touring Pass. We sampled 4 bottles from the Staff Pick list and picked up two bottles - 2014 Winemaker's Riesling and 2013 Winemaker's Red. I love... More

I booked a snowshoeing winery experience with Thirty Bench and attended Saturday Feb 6th. There wasn't any snow and even though the winery contacted me beforehand to see if we still wanted to attend and gave me the option to rebook, we decided to go ahead as planned. Instead of snowshoeing, it was a hike through the vineyards.....what a great... More

Very friendly and welcoming. Tasting fee was waived from what I recall when I bought my bottle of $30 red. Lovely grounds and definitely recommend you stop here.

Excellent wine. Very pretty property. If we went back we would do a more formal tasting/sit down tasting as opposed to tasting at the bar. The wine is excellent and worth going to buy a few bottles. If you go, be sure to stop at Angel's Gate down the road too.
