An out of the way, very quiet place on an expansive plot of land. When we visited we were almost completely alone the entire time which was very nice, especially in the garden area. You'll encounter many gigantic and colorful statues here that almost gives off the impression of a theme park. If looking for something older and more traditional, this is not it, however it had some great artwork to the structures and was a nice stop while visiting other temples in the area.

An amazing 'locals' place. The tour companies do not stop here because its free and they do not get a commission. The Previous King of Thailand stayed here often. It is big, colourful and inspiring. The gardens are beautiful and very creative, especially the fire breathing dragons. If you can stop here, do so it is worth the time.

Don't go here expecting a peaceful tranquil atmosphere. Everything is done over the top with colourful and huge statues everywhere. My favourite part was actually the garden which should not be missed.
Worth a stop.

We came here on the way to other temples and wasn’t disappointed.

The place mixes some modern themes with traditional. (See photos)

There are places to eat outside the temple which was cheap and good food, there is somewhere to eat and drink in the temple too.

The temple itself was spectacular and the statues and bells made it enjoyable to visit too.

My wife and I came here on a whim and boy were we blown away. The temple is HUGE. So many different massive statues. There was a group of food vendors selling food in the parking lot of the temple. This place is well worth it. I highly recommend.

This wat, in a modest village in Chiang Rai province, apparently attracted royal patronage, and the results are breathtaking. There is fabulous building after fabulous building, and as wide a range of statues as I have seen outside India. The monks are friendly, entrance is free, and the photo opportunities without number.

Beautiful, huge, epic. Leave yourself plenty of daylight to take in all of the statues. We rented a car and a driver from Chiang Rai to check out this temple as well as some neighboring sights. We stayed until sunset and were able to witness monks chanting in one of the buildings of the compound.

This wat does not receive the publicity it deserves. We enjoyed our visit more than the famous Wat Rong Khun. A bit out of the way but anyone traveling to Chiang Rai should put it on their "must see" list.

It's completely different from the seriousness of other temples in town, this is more on the 'fun' side with ironic sculptures displayed based on the modern world. The upper part is still under construction / expansion. I can't believe this is a well-hidden gem, if it weren't for my private drive I wouldn't have known! By the way my driver (tony from lanna tour) said his brother in law helped built this place! And he's super proud!
