I first bought Nancy's map in 1983 when it was in its 2nd printing. The map appealed to me because it was so attractive in the sense that all the land marks were there and then there were so many annotated notes for the things I should see. I have visited Chiang Mai more than 4 times since then, and I just ordered (and received) the latest Nancy Chandler map. Well, from all I know of Chiang Mai now, this map was a revelation!! It makes it so easy to see where to go and what you want to see. From the tourist heavy sights to the local market. Both are frenetic, but differently so. I tried to order the latest map through Amazon, but I quickly found out that for so little more, I could order it from Nancy directly. I have the 1983 map and the latest map in front of me. On our airport transfer to the Chiang Mai plaza hotel, we met a fantastic tour guide Magic Moon (so called since he showed us all kinds of magic tricks :)). His English was impeccable and he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and gave us lots of interesting info about Thailand and Chiang Mai. We therefore asked him to take us on a City tour the next day. His price was very reasonable and we had a private tour in a minibus. He took us to see the diamond Buddha temple, old(est?) temple, a silk factory (fascinating and with the most beautiful items for sale) and the lacquer ware factory (amazing how fast and beautiful those ladies can paint!) and with very reasonable items in the shop). He even told us about nice and reasonable restaurants and bars close to our hotel where we had a great time! I'm only sorry that I don't remember the name of his company so that I could contact them to compliment this amazing tour guide!…

We found Noah from Chiangmai Daily Travel through Tripadvisor. After a few emails, we had confirmed 1 day with Noah for our 3 days in Chiang Mai. He took us to all the places that is worth seeing and also places that we wanted to see. He is very friendly and his English is very good. He is also funny, and made a few jokes to make us laugh! Noah definitely made Chiang Mai my favorite place in Thailand! If I was to go back to Chiang Mai, I would definitely ask Noah to show us around again!…
