On July 6, 1982 the The Orbeli Brothers Museum was opened in Tsaghkadzor Armenia . The museum consists of one floor where we can find personal items of brothers, records, manuscripts, books, publications in different languages. Ruben Orbeli Underwater Archeologist, Levon Orbeli - Physiologist and Joseph Orbeli Orientalist and Archeologist were World renowned scientists during the Soviet era. As the brothers are Armenians and Ruben Orbeli was born in Tsaghkatsor, the museum to honor their memory was built in center of town.

This is the museum that everyone regardless the nationality should go in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia. So proud to have such a noble family of scientists of the Armenian origin. After the visit to this museum I bought the biography of Orberli Brothers. Amazing to learn about all the efforts that father of Orberli Brothers took for the education of his sons, despite all the difficulties they had.
Deeply touching. Please go to this museum and take a guided tour. She was amazing and spent with us more than two hours willingly answering all our questions.

Since Tsaghkadzor is a small town, We went to check this Museum, time as per schedule should be until 5pm.
We went around 2pm and it was closed.
Later one guy smoked cigarette and we asked if its open, and he gave a hand sign that its closed, ..yet its not 5pm...

A gem not to be missed if interested in history of a unique family of Armenian scholars. They have guided tours if reading the displays is not to your liking. Also the first room has artifacts dug up in Tsaghkadzor.

If you go to Tsakhkadzor is a place you must visit. Its a museum which is been in very good condition, dedicated to a rich and famous family who must be remembered in history, Orbeli Brothers. The museum is their house and everybody that will visit it, can learn about the story of their family.

Like a few museums in Armenia, it's dedicated to rich and famous people who want us to remember them. This one is in their house, and tells the story of the Orbeli family, a royal family that goes back many years. In this quiet town it's a nice little visit to break up the day.
