We walked from the Mariott hotel, which took about 20 minutes and was mostly uphill. The views of the monastery were beautiful; it had an atmosphere of serenity and peacefulness on the inside. The area around the monastery was also splendid, snow-covered with mountains in the backdrop. It has been well kept and is close to the town centre, so it is worth a visit!

A monastery definitely worth a visit. The location is close to pretty much every hotel in Tsaghkadzor. Great architecture and beautiful surroundings ....

It is worth visiting this complex if you are in the village. Quiet atmosphere with a small souvenir shop mainly with religious objects.

Nice 11-13th century monastery worth visiting if in town. Can be done in less than half hour. Great example of Armenian history in a very convenient location.

It was a splendid place! It feels like you're closer to the Creator! Armenia is blessed with natural beauty. Our Armenian tour guide indeed had shown the best of Armenia with much of adventure & love from nature.
A must visit for everyone!

Really beautiful 11th century monastic sure recently lavishly restored by an Armenian philanthropist currently living in Russia.
It's about 60km or so from Yerevan very close to the ski resort of Tsakhkadzor.
There are three churches, two chapels and a gavit mausoleum. On our visit onky the main church was open to visjt the interior, Saint Grigor Church.
It is wobderful inside, blackened by centuries of candles since 1013 with a beautiful high vestibule and stunning church beyond with a high cupola.
The other structures were not open but you can wander around the grassy grounds and enjoy them from without.
It's a very peaceful and serene place and one of the most beautiful we visited on our few days in Armenia.
An absolute must see if you are in the area.
