This is truly a gem of a market. It’s a local attraction and enjoys favorability with weekender Thai couples, families and small groups visiting. The number of Western tourists is demonstrably small giving it an atmosphere of “authenticity”. I was fortunate to have it included on a bike tour with Nai, my guide from Spice Roads. It has the usual variety of booths selling fresh produce, plants and myriad opportunities to purchase fried and grilled food. It also has many unique booths. One can find Siamese fighting fish for sale, unusual retail items and there is a sling shot competition area in which competitors can fire their seeds/stones at strings of soup cans that have been hung up as targets.

When in Bangkok it’s a must to do on the list. But a long way lots of traffic and tourist souvenirs. But the foods good especially the fruit. The boat ride is good and crowded but that’s this place. Worth a visit

Visited on a Sunday morning whilst on a cycle tour. Very good value food, and lots of interesting stalls. Bought a varied selection including a granite pestle (broke my old one) pearl earrings, coconut pancakes, fried banana and sweet potato. Delightful small market with plenty of stalls, immaculately clean and great place to have a drink and relax whilst exploring this wonderful area.

This place seems to be an example of a market which was originally purely for locals but which morphed onto a local market with hordes of tourists walking through snapping photos. There is still that local feel however, and if the food smells wafting about don't excite your taste buds, then go eat a bowl of cheerios. Food here is awesome and well priced. Go hungry!

I read a lot of reviews so I was excited to see it. I was disappointed when I actually saw it. I never saw anyone buy anything from the vendors. It is actually easier to buy from a street vendor than it is to buy from someone while everyone is waiting for you to make a purchase on your boat. It was fun to get outside of Bangkok and see a different part of Thailand.
