Outstanding waterfalls! By far the best of the three that Dalat visitors frequently travel to. Beautiful falls with several different viewpoints offering great photos. The falls are accessed by walking down from the parking area about 10 minutes. Visitors can opt for a buggy ride for 15K VND each way. May be worth the small cost for going back up on hot days.

Hired a car and driver via Grab for the day and visited the falls as part of our own itinerary, taking in the sights of Dalat and the surrounding area that we wanted to see. The falls are slightly off the beaten track (about an hour and 15 mins outside the city).

40,000 VND entrance fee. We when visited there where about 6 other people meaning it was peaceful and serene, unlike Dantala falls which was crazy and crowded. Very impressive and a lovely spot to have a picnic. There are ane or two places also serving some food which we did not sample.

Its about a 5-10 min walk down to the falls but definitely not as strenuous as walk as Dantala.

Highly recommend.

I visited this waterfall in midoctober , end of rainy season. High amount of water and strong flow of the water from higher than 50 meter cliff is stunning picture of this attraction. It’s rocky gtound but not much difficulty to accede near the waterfall. Along the way from parking lot to the waterfall is shady trees and beautiful flower garden.

It would have been more impressive with more water. it's worth walking to the bottom of the falls. For some reasons the motorbike riders have to park at the gate when the tours go halfway to the parking located at the top of the stairs. I was charged 25000NVD when my ticket only shows 20000VND.
45 mins is plenty of time. the good part of it is riding via the small roads from Dalat. The main way down Dalat towards the Falls is busy and dangerous because of the local drivers. Sorry it had to be said at some stage.....Use your Google map. There is an alternative way via a temple with a new giant statue at about 30km from Dalat.

Our Hotel arranged a private driver for us for the day to see several of the local waterfalls: Pongour Falls, Prenn & Datanla. Pongour was my favourite.

There are two options to walk to the bottom of the falls (& on the day we were there, there was a lorry driving people down too). A number of groups had brought picnics.

We spent around 30 mins walking around, taking photos & taking it all in. The water was not clear & there is a lot of rubbish in areas which is disappointing.

My friends & I went Dalat for golfing. After golf, we travelled to Pongour Waterfall. The travelling time of 1 hour plus is definitely worth. At the entrance, we took a motorcycle ride to the waterfall. You can choose to walk for 10-15 minutes in. Wonderful experience & took many photos.

Worth the long trip from the city. It is about an hour's drive. Strong waterfalls from a height. Not to be missed. It was one of the main reasons of my visit to Dalat and my expectations were more than met. Swimming or jumping into the water pool is not permitted since it is considered unsafe.
Caution- there are slippery areas watch every step.

Thank heaven's that the monsoons have arrived for there was water in the waterfall. Here is how to get there without paying a taxi driver an arm and a leg. YOU CAN DO IT ON YOUR OWN and twice the fun.

Take the Bao Loc bus (on the way it was orange , Futa line and on the way back it was green airconditioned) both buses charged 20,000 VD per person. There seems to be no gouging of tourists thankfully.

Tell the bus conductor's assistant that you want PONGOUR FALLS. You will pass the city of Duc Trong and then about 10 minutes after the conductor will stop the bus and off you get. It is 6 kilometers to the falls from the highway.

There is a motorbike ride available to the falls (cost 100,00 VD for the two of us). So, all you have to do is look like lost sheep, ask at the shops available on the corner about motorbike to falls. One of the owners of the shop said she would take us.....and that is what happened. Three of us (rather large westerners) on a bike...oh joy! We did not fall off and arrived safely. Because it was a glorious day, and we had our UV umbrellas with us we walked back to the highway after visiting the falls. It took 75 minutes with me taking photos of coffee beans growing...yeah.

Now about the falls.

We arrived early in the morning (they open at 7 a.m.) and there were no tourists at all. The cicadas (rain birds) were deafening and created a surreal feeling like being on another planet, compound that with lush green vegetation and azure blue skies, no people and you are transported into a dream like reality.

There are shops on the premises where you can buy water and food. I would recommend you try the corn on the cob with dressing that has an oily coconut sweet taste with green onions. It was the best cob of corn we have had ever in our lives (yes really).

OK now about the falls.

They are very pretty, well fenced in with caution signs, little bridges that take you to a walkabout to see the falls in the distance. You need to bring your tripod and Neutral Density Filter to get photos of silky milky falls. We understand that they are the prettiest falls in this province. It would be unfair to compare them to Niagara, Victoria, or Iguazu but in their humbleness they are lovely.

Get there before the crowds arrive and walk back, sing songs, wave to people, laugh and enjoy life. It was a glorious day. Thank you Vietnam.

Oh, so how did we get home you are wondering? Once we reached the highway we sat down and had a fresh cocoanut drink and lazed in some comfortable chairs waiting for a bus. In the distance we saw a little green bus approaching and waved it down. He stopped, we boarded, the air con was on the cost was as already stated 20,000 VD and we arrived to the Big C in time to buy some supper.

A wonderful day.....do it.

My partner and I spend a week in Da Lat in January 2018. There were many sites of natural beauty and I can see why the French made Da Lat their summer retreat a century ago to escape the heat and frantic pace of Saigon. One such place is Thác Pongour, or Pongour Falls.

After an hour's drive we reached our mountain top destination and began our climb down by foot to the falls. As it hadn't been raining for a while the falls were not overly full but still it felt majestic and incredibly peaceful. On our morning there we were the only two at the falls. It was a very special experience. After we climbed back up we spend some time in the beautiful gardens. Well worth a visit, especially after some time in the crowded cities of Ho Chi Minh City & Hanoi, a weekday visit to Da Lat shows a totally serene side to Vietnam.

We only had one day in Dalat. I emailed Dalattrip.com and had prompt responses and so organised a driver to meet us at 7.30 to take us to Pongour Falls, Crazy House and a few Pagodas. Our driver Minh was there before 7.30 and before he came in, he gave the windows an extra clean. I cannot speak highly enough of this company and Minh our driver. Although he had limited English, he took us to all the best places including lunch in a local vietnamese restaurant. The falls were amazing, the Pagodas needed to be seen to be appreciated, including the lovely elderly gentle lady who gave us some incense to burn at the Lady Buddha. I would highly recommend contacting this company to organise your trip. They will do what you want and improve on it.
