Outstanding waterfalls! By far the best of the three that Dalat visitors frequently travel to. Beautiful falls with several different viewpoints offering great photos. The falls are accessed by walking down from the parking area about 10 minutes. Visitors can opt for a buggy ride for 15K VND each way. May be worth the small cost for going back up on hot days.

Hired a car and driver via Grab for the day and visited the falls as part of our own itinerary, taking in the sights of Dalat and the surrounding area that we wanted to see. The falls are slightly off the beaten track (about an hour and 15 mins outside the city).
40,000 VND entrance fee. We when visited there where about 6 other people meaning it was peaceful and serene, unlike Dantala falls which was crazy and crowded. Very impressive and a lovely spot to have a picnic. There are ane or two places also serving some food which we did not sample.
Its about a 5-10 min walk down to the falls but definitely not as strenuous as walk as Dantala.
Highly recommend.

I visited this waterfall in midoctober , end of rainy season. High amount of water and strong flow of the water from higher than 50 meter cliff is stunning picture of this attraction. It’s rocky gtound but not much difficulty to accede near the waterfall. Along the way from parking lot to the waterfall is shady trees and beautiful flower garden.

It would have been more impressive with more water. it's worth walking to the bottom of the falls. For some reasons the motorbike riders have to park at the gate when the tours go halfway to the parking located at the top of the stairs. I was charged 25000NVD when my ticket only shows 20000VND.
45 mins is plenty of time. the good part of it is riding via the small roads from Dalat. The main way down Dalat towards the Falls is busy and dangerous because of the local drivers. Sorry it had to be said at some stage.....Use your Google map. There is an alternative way via a temple with a new giant statue at about 30km from Dalat.

Our Hotel arranged a private driver for us for the day to see several of the local waterfalls: Pongour Falls, Prenn & Datanla. Pongour was my favourite.
There are two options to walk to the bottom of the falls (& on the day we were there, there was a lorry driving people down too). A number of groups had brought picnics.
We spent around 30 mins walking around, taking photos & taking it all in. The water was not clear & there is a lot of rubbish in areas which is disappointing.

My friends & I went Dalat for golfing. After golf, we travelled to Pongour Waterfall. The travelling time of 1 hour plus is definitely worth. At the entrance, we took a motorcycle ride to the waterfall. You can choose to walk for 10-15 minutes in. Wonderful experience & took many photos.

Worth the long trip from the city. It is about an hour's drive. Strong waterfalls from a height. Not to be missed. It was one of the main reasons of my visit to Dalat and my expectations were more than met. Swimming or jumping into the water pool is not permitted since it is considered unsafe.
Caution- there are slippery areas watch every step.

Thank heaven's that the monsoons have arrived for there was water in the waterfall. Here is how to get there without paying a taxi driver an arm and a leg. YOU CAN DO IT ON YOUR OWN and twice the fun.
Take the Bao Loc bus (on the way it was orange , Futa line and on the way back it was green airconditioned) both buses charged 20,000 VD per person. There seems to be no gouging of tourists thankfully.
Tell the bus conductor's assistant that you want PONGOUR FALLS. You will pass the city of Duc Trong and then about 10 minutes after the conductor will stop the bus and off you get. It is 6 kilometers to the falls from the highway.
There is a motorbike ride available to the falls (cost 100,00 VD for the two of us). So, all you have to do is look like lost sheep, ask at the shops available on the corner about motorbike to falls. One of the owners of the shop said she would take us.....and that is what happened. Three of us (rather large westerners) on a bike...oh joy! We did not fall off and arrived safely. Because it was a glorious day, and we had our UV umbrellas with us we walked back to the highway after visiting the falls. It took 75 minutes with me taking photos of coffee beans growing...yeah.
Now about the falls.
We arrived early in the morning (they open at 7 a.m.) and there were no tourists at all. The cicadas (rain birds) were deafening and created a surreal feeling like being on another planet, compound that with lush green vegetation and azure blue skies, no people and you are transported into a dream like reality.
There are shops on the premises where you can buy water and food. I would recommend you try the corn on the cob with dressing that has an oily coconut sweet taste with green onions. It was the best cob of corn we have had ever in our lives (yes really).
OK now about the falls.
They are very pretty, well fenced in with caution signs, little bridges that take you to a walkabout to see the falls in the distance. You need to bring your tripod and Neutral Density Filter to get photos of silky milky falls. We understand that they are the prettiest falls in this province. It would be unfair to compare them to Niagara, Victoria, or Iguazu but in their humbleness they are lovely.
Get there before the crowds arrive and walk back, sing songs, wave to people, laugh and enjoy life. It was a glorious day. Thank you Vietnam.
Oh, so how did we get home you are wondering? Once we reached the highway we sat down and had a fresh cocoanut drink and lazed in some comfortable chairs waiting for a bus. In the distance we saw a little green bus approaching and waved it down. He stopped, we boarded, the air con was on the cost was as already stated 20,000 VD and we arrived to the Big C in time to buy some supper.
A wonderful day.....do it.

My partner and I spend a week in Da Lat in January 2018. There were many sites of natural beauty and I can see why the French made Da Lat their summer retreat a century ago to escape the heat and frantic pace of Saigon. One such place is Thác Pongour, or Pongour Falls.
After an hour's drive we reached our mountain top destination and began our climb down by foot to the falls. As it hadn't been raining for a while the falls were not overly full but still it felt majestic and incredibly peaceful. On our morning there we were the only two at the falls. It was a very special experience. After we climbed back up we spend some time in the beautiful gardens. Well worth a visit, especially after some time in the crowded cities of Ho Chi Minh City & Hanoi, a weekday visit to Da Lat shows a totally serene side to Vietnam.

We only had one day in Dalat. I emailed Dalattrip.com and had prompt responses and so organised a driver to meet us at 7.30 to take us to Pongour Falls, Crazy House and a few Pagodas. Our driver Minh was there before 7.30 and before he came in, he gave the windows an extra clean. I cannot speak highly enough of this company and Minh our driver. Although he had limited English, he took us to all the best places including lunch in a local vietnamese restaurant. The falls were amazing, the Pagodas needed to be seen to be appreciated, including the lovely elderly gentle lady who gave us some incense to burn at the Lady Buddha. I would highly recommend contacting this company to organise your trip. They will do what you want and improve on it.

The Monks photo at Pongour with gushing water fall. Can we go up there to take the photo ? What months to get the gushing water.
Written September 29, 2018
For the tourist safety, the Government is no longer allowed the guests to climb to the top of fall anymore. My apology for that.
Usually, from June to December (rainy season) will have much more heavy water flow in the fall.
Sincerely,

I was wondering how much the car ride costs from Dalat to the falls? Does the driver wait to take you back or are there other drivers/taxis?
Written July 11, 2017
Hi, I believe this should be arounf 500,000 VND for one way trip. And around 1,000,000 VND for round trip. The driver will sure wait for you guys to get back.
I suggest you to ask the hotel to find you a better price for the car. They know cheaper taxi for sure.

Hi! I was wondering what would be the best way to get to Pongour Falls from Ho Chi Minh City? I would like to do a day trip if possible. Thanks in advance for your help!!
Written July 6, 2017
Hi Alanna, you can go to Thanh Buoi bus at 1 Vinh Vien st, district 10, HCMC and take the night bus at 12am or 1am. Tell the driver to stop you at "thác Pongour". The driver will drop you at (11.665085, 108.314456) at QL20
The time you will arrive there around 6am. And you can take the "xe ôm - motobike taxi" go straight to the falls (just go to the coffee shop or stores around there and ask people to help find you a xe ôm)
And after done with the visit, you guys can take taxi and go to Da lat, there are plenty of bus can get you back to HCM

Hi, we are taking the overnight bus arriving early morning in Dalat and then leaving on a bus that afternoon at 5.00 p.m. We would like to take a trip to the falls. We are not keen in riding a scooter ourselves. Can you please tell me how we can go about coming to the falls
Written May 24, 2017
hi, if you arrive to Da Lat in the morning you can take a taxi from Da Lat to Pongour falls (located in Duc Trong town). Price probably around 400.000 VND for both trips. It will take you around 3 hours to visit Pongour falls and be back to Dalat.
Or there are plenty of tours to visit the falls around Da Lat; you can choose the one have Pongour falls on it.
Please let's me know if I can help you more with that. Have a wonderful trip :)

I understand the Pongour falls is between Mui Ne and Da Lat. I will be traveling these two places (Mui Ne first then Da Lat). I do not wish to take the bus to Da Lat first then ride motorbike for another 50km backwards to Pongour falls+return to Da Lat. Instead, i wish to visit Pongour falls when I am on my way from Mui Ne to Da Lat.
Is there any public transport available for me to complete this in half day ?
Written December 10, 2016
The falls are easy to get to from Dalat, I would be super surprised if you find any transport that will drop you off on the way from Mui Ne as it is well out the way. You would also need to the organise transport from the falls to Da Lat. I would recommend just doing a trip from Da Lat, it can be done in under half a day or longer if you wish. I rented a scooter to do this but all the hostels/tour groups will take you, ask around for best price.

hello,
just asking which bus route did you take as the one to Bao loc doesnt seem to have the bus stop you mentioned in the review. there is a Kim cuc interception stop but google map does not find it so unsure where to get off.
thanks lot for your help!
best regards,
benjamin

hi Benjamin,
You can write down to a piece of paper this sentence "Nga ba thac Pongour"
The driver will know where to drop you off, and you can get a motobike to take you to the Pongour (which cost around 100k VND, I believe)
Also, here is the location you need to drop off for you to see on Google map
"QL20, Phú An, Phú Hội, Đức Trọng, Lâm Đồng, Vietnam
Latitude: 11.664911 | Longitude: 108.314381"
Just let me know if I can be more specific. Thanks Benjamin

Hi we are planning on staying in Nha Trang and wondered if this was too far for a day visit?
TIA
Written July 17, 2016
Hi Beverly, thanks for your question. Yes, I believe Nha Trang is kinda far for a day visit. But I hope we can have a chance to welcome you to Pongour Falls soon. Wish you have a great time in Vietnam :)

Hello everyone, i will be traveling to Vietnam in the beginning of January and i was wondering how the Pongour Falls look like during this time. I was wondering how full it is since it is actually the dry season. Thanks a bunch
Written January 9, 2015
Hi, the Pongour is kind of less water in the dry season, but it is not completely out of water. I would recommend to visit the fall during the rainy season which will be started around June - December every year.
