The last thing I wanted to do after a day of walking was to do more but couldn't resist the opportunity to see this castle. Take the road ALL THE WAY up (don't be fooled by a path that leads through picnic tables as there...More

This is a well renovated ruins of an early middle ages castle. The views are spectacular from the various terraces and balconies of the castle. But don't expect hours of historical insights.

You should not rush through Castrojeriz and miss the views from the Castillo on the hill - they are epic. And the castle itself is well worth the short hike uphill. I bet so many pilgrims don't take the time to visit the castle -...More

Or so I've read. I was here on a Sunday afternoon after a long, hot walk on the Camino. Nearly everything was closed and I didn't have the energy to walk to the places that were open.

Followed the locals trek up the mountain to find spectacular views and impressive castle ruins. Even after riding 42km well worth the visit.

You should take the effort to hike up the hill because the views are spectacular, even after a day's walking in the Camino. You won't be disappointed.

Walked up to castle ruins(just followed the road up-once we found the right road). Excellent views all around as the day was nice and clear. Very windy so hold on to your hat.
