Inis Oirr And Cliffs of Moher Cruise

102 reviews
Leave the towns of Western Ireland behind for the day and head out to Inis Oirr on a ferry. This day trip will take you from Doolin to the smallest of the Aran Islands in Galway Bay, an island dotted with ancient ruins, secluded beaches and astonishing ocean views. Explore Inis Oirr without a tour group holding you back, and sail under the Cliffs of Moher, an ancient rockface that towers over the Atlantic Ocean, on the way back.

Doolin Music House is a must if you are visiting Doolin or any of the surrounding towns in Clare. Sheila was a fantastic host and made sure we were well looked after during our visit. Christy and James are a great duo and it was incredibly endearing listening to their stories of years past accompanied with traditional Irish music. If you’re looking for an authentic Irish experience with some fun, laughter, and history, then you must book Doolin Music House. They’ve also got everything sorted so that you are distanced from others who are not in your group and with sanitiser etc about the place. A tip: if you’re not driving I recommend you book a taxi well in advance unless you’re within walking distance. This is the case in most rural towns in Ireland.

We had a brilliant night listening to the music and the history of the songs, as well as local history and the funny anecdotes that Christy told us. I'd definitely recommend it if you're in or near Doolin.

A really enjoyable evening spent with with very talented musicians. Sheila was the prefect host..James and Christy engaged with younger children and we really enjoyed every note. This is a not to be missed event. It was a great honour to be welcomed into an amazing talented house.Pictures on the walls sketched by local artists and Christy explains in detail all the local history. Local ghost stories to eerie 17 century music played solo by james Our poor Taxi Peter had to wait as none wanted to leave.

A visit to the Doolin Music House was a highlight of our week spent exploring Ireland in October 2019. Sheila Quinn was a wonderful hostess and easy and quick to communicate with. Her artwork displayed in the home is stunning. Christy Barry and his traditional music was the feature of the evening, accompanied by his friend James Devitt on the fiddle. Christy played flute, recorder, and gave us an amazing demonstration of playing spoons (not all at the same time of course!) In between sets, he shared stories of great local musicians and his own experiences growing up with music. The stories and music were grand! And so were the wine and local delicacies (smoked salmon and cheeses) offered. It was a wonderful gift to gather around a turf fire and enjoy traditional music and craic in a home. Highly recommended!
