Lovely gardens
Jul 2021 • Couples
Visited today after a recommendation from our accommodation host. Lovely gardens with nice views, great plants, lots of seats and a couple of tree swings to sit for a while and admire the views and surroundings. Great woodland walk too. What’s not to like?

Great gardens but overpriced food
Jul 2021
These gardens are very pleasant to wander around. Entrance costs £9 for an adult which seems to be about the going rate. The herbaceous borders are an amazing sight - deep and in full bloom - despite the heavy rain that has knocked them back a bit. The ponds are well maintained and the water lilies numerous. A particular favourite was the meadow areas which are looking stunning, especially as you look up the hill from the woodland walk. Not many butterflies or bees sadly but it was an overcast morning.

One disappointment was the lunch which cost £18 for three filled rolls with green leaves, 2 tap waters and a small apple juice. There was no food menu to consult and consequently no prices given before you order. Picnics are not allowed in the gardens and there are two tables half way down the drive for picnicers. Come on Hole Park this really let you down and could be SO much better! Overcharging a captive audience is unpleasant and unnecessary.

Hidden gem
Jun 2021
Found this purely by accident.
Lovely gardens, with one of the biggest sequoias I've seen in a long while. The Rhodies had all bloomed so missed them, but I'm back in August and hope to see the chaves in the gardens.
Dogs loved it
Lovely 58 page guide book only £3.00 which makes a nice change.

Peaceful and relaxing
Jun 2021 • Couples
The whole place just had a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The gardens were lovely, particularly liked the peonies and roses. Our dog enjoyed the woodland. Finished our visit with a glass of Hole Park Apple juice, was so nice we bought a bottle to take home!

A beautiful day out
Jun 2021
Beautiful gardens, some formal, many are planted with wilf flowers and allowed to run wild, absolutely stunning, I saw wild flowers there I have not seen for years. The staff were very helpful (especially the labrador). This was a wonderful stroll around probably the best country house gardens I have been to. £9 is good value and the food in the cafe very good and not over expensive.

Lovely gardens
May 2021 • Friends
We almost had the gardens to ourselves as the weather was so bad, but this didn’t distract from the beauty, very well kept gardens, lots to see and the woodland part it beautiful, lucky enough to be there for the bluebells and the wild garlic walk. 💚

Great Gardens
Apr 2021
There is plenty of parking close to the gardens. At £9 per person it is not a cheap visit. There is a good variation of gardens to suit most, ranging from formal to parkland to woodland walks. The formal gardens are very well kept and create a pleasant atmosphere is you just want to sit and enjoy the surroundings. The woodland walks are enjoyable with a good variety of flowers and especially beautiful with all the bluebells. Not all of the walks are user friendly if you have mobility problems. The food from the cafe is very good ,if a little expensive and the wait can be considerable at busy times. This is the first time we have visited and will go back again in a different season to see what flowers are on show. If you want peace and quiet in soothing surroundings. you can find it here even when they are busy.

Great at any time of year
Apr 2021
We have now been to Hole Park three times, and we have found it great at any time of year. But the best time is to see the masses of bluebells, which are at their peak in the second half of April - the exact dates are well publicised on the website. There cannot be a better place to see them anywhere in South-East England, in this charming part of Kent. The gardens are quite extensive, and very well run by the Barham family and their colleagues. You will receive a warm welcome. Recommended.

Perfect Day
May 2021
This was my third visit so I do recommend it. We went on May 7th and the bluebells were perfect. Beautifully managed woodland and formal gardens, pond and parkland. We took a picnic so didn't use the cafe but can vouch for the fact that Covid measures were in place. There was an orderly, outside queueing system to enter the gardens and hand sanitiser was prominently available. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a lovely day.

Beautiful Gardens And Woods.
May 2021
This place is bigger than I thought it would be. The gardens are pretty and well kept. The cafe was lovely too (Would recommend the Scone with jam and cream!). But the best bit was The Bluebell Woods. It is so beautiful and so tranquil. I'll certainly be back again later on in the summer to get more sunnier photos. Well worth going to to spend a few hours with nature.
