Visited RSPB Arne today and had a very enjoyable and relaxing couple of hours walking round the reserve. The car park is only £5 for all day, so you could take a picnic and spend as long as you like admiring the view. They also have a café, where my family and I had some delicious scones before we started... More

I sponsored a Reptile Survey at Arne, and took my grandson who is very interested in them with me and Chis and James the 2 RSPB people. They have about 100 felt pieces and 30+ tin sheets down around the reserve to attract reptiles. The main purpose being to monitor the Smooth snakes there and build up a library of... More

We were staying in the area and we were told that there was now a cafe at Arne. We had been there before,so we had a ride over and took a look at the changes. Parked the car and got talking to the lady information centre, telling her that my wife cant walk to far, she said she could give... More

I went for the birding, but was disappointed. The hides are to far away from the birds, they need to be much nearer. To get to the nearest hide is a 1.3km walk from the car park, which is pay and display. If you like walking, then it would be great.

What a gem! We cycled out from Wool and were amazed at the area covered by this reserve and the stunning views across Poole Harbour that you are met with as you emerge from the woodland. The new visitor centre is equally eye-catching, complete with a lovely cafe. You can easily spend a whole day here, particularly if you descend... More

We love this place, there is so much to see whether you are a bird watcher or not. The peace and quiet is wonderful -you would imagine you are so close to Poole. Good car park and lovely café too

Went for a lovely bird watching walk at Arne. It was our first visit and it is delightful. I would recommend it to anyone who loves birds and animals, there is something for everyone depending on the time of year.

Not just for birds and twitchers! Lovely woodland walk down to the beach perfect for a picnic. Nice cafe and shop by the car park. Would recommend it.

Great for a nice walk with lovely views but not great for birdwatching. The bird hides are so far away from the wading birds it is virtually impossible to see anything. It is the same at Pulborough Brooks, only Minsmere has bothered to put up good hides in places where visitors have a good view. The RSPB could learn a... More

Hello Louise, Many thanks for your review. You'll be pleased to know that we are currently planning for replacement and re-location of our hides at the reserve. As I'm sure you understand this can be quite a long process with securing funds, being confident that we do not have an impact on our wildlife and planning. Bear with us though... More

We arrived at Arne later than planned at about 12 but we decided to still go ahead and follow the red route which was the longest but also covered a wide variety of habitats. We had barely left the car park when we had an amazing sighting of an immature green woodpecker which sat in clear view on a post... More
