We wanted a non-touristy trip to appreciate the natural beauty of the Amazon and Red and his wife really did that for us. We stayed at an air Bnb in Novo Airão and did the day tour with them the next day. They organised a perfect itinerary for us in the Anavilhanas Park: seeing the Igapo (submerged forest), giant Samauma tree (400 years old), chameleon beach and a stop for lunch of BBQ fish on the river beach and then a walk through the jungle to Madada cave before cooling off at a sandbar in the river and then arriving in Novo Airão for sunset. Red was brilliant at spotting wildlife from the boat and on the walk and we saw monkeys, toucans, Jacare, loads of dolphins, a snake, macaws, hummingbirds and a load of other birds. He was able to pick out the tiniest frog and explained about the jungle / indigenous people to us. We didn’t see a single other person on our trip (bar passing boats of course!) and it was the perfect day.
In Brazil a lot of advertising is via social media (Facebook / Instagram) and then organised via WhatsApp and this tour was no different. You will find that their WhatsApp is linked to Instagram so you can book via there.

Beautiful park. We saw pink dolphins, swam in the Rio Negro, fished for piranhas, went on a night spotting tour. The sounds, the scenery and the fresh air all made this a journey that I will never forget.

Deep in the Amazon this park is still beautiful and unspoilt! There are small islands and when the forest gets flooded the small groves are stunning!

The trips to local communities and embracing the environment are breathtaking. During high water season it is harder to find animals, however the views and the boat trips in the middle of the forest are absolutely astonish.

Visited the park with our guide from the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge to go for a hike. There are full time park rangers staying here. Bring proper boots and gators will be given to you just in case of snakes. Very interesting insects and the biggest butterflies I've ever seen! I'm not certain you can stop here without a guide and it is boat access only (it seemed from our end). You could get wet or dirty so dress appropriately.

This place is the example of why we should fight for the Amazon Rainforest.
It really worth a visit. If you haven't been there yet, include it on your bucketlist

The greatness of nature at a higher level. Best time to visit in September or October, when the river level is low and the sandy beaches are visible.
The sunset on the river is a lifetime memory.

Had the opportunity to visit the national park while staying at the Anavilhanas Lodge. The park is massive and is being protected by the Brazilian government. There is no fishing allowed, trees may not be cut or scarred, and no hunting. There is an abundance of wildlife, and it is truly awesome.
