Why travel kilometers and hours to see game when you can do so in minutes from the city? Did a self-drive and seen giraffes, different buck, rhino and abundant bird life. Will definitely say, give it a try but maybe go on a guided game drive.

although this place is far smaller than other safari drives, it basically provides the same experience of seeing a few animals with long periods of boredom in between. Parts of the road infrastructure is horrible with hundreds of meters of continuous bumps. Other parts are simply dangerous or missing directions (specifically southeast corner). By dangerous, I mean rugged dirt path... More

Thank you for your feedback. You are absolutely correct about the south east corner - that section is only suitable for high clearance vehicles as indicated on the map. More

This is a peaceful place and close to PTA to visit. Make sure you visit Ngata Safari Lodge for the best smoke ribs - these ribs is been smoke for hours in a real smoker ( even the chips and veggies is not what you always get at restaurants). Dinokeng Game Reserve, to drive on the self drive routes is... More

You will fall in love with the variety of game in the reserve. Game drive crew were excellent. I would recommend without reserve!

Me and my colleagues were at this marvelous space on earth for our annual break away team building sessions. I must say they've got some excellent activities to offer which are fun and interactive anyone can participate in. Their large space can actually accommodate a large crowd. Being a big five game park, it's just another cherry on top for... More

We visited the Dinokeng Game Reserve for the weekend over 13-15 May 2016. We simply love the bush - so it’s great to be able to enjoy the bush experience in a setting not too far from Johannesburg…this being said though, people going to Dinokeng must not expect to see the big five, or even further to that – any... Thank you for visiting Dinokeng Game Reserve and for taking time to provide feedback to TripAdvisor. We value both praise and criticism as it provides us with guidance for our unique project. Had tons of fun on out recent destination to the Reserve. Only negative was the toilet at the Safari Mall. Had to pay R2.00 to use a bathroom with no light, no seat and no toilet paper. The smell was so bad I don't think it had been cleaned in years. Once we got to the self drive route, it... More

I absolutely love the Willemsrus campsite. It is small with great bathrooms, a beautiful pool, large grassy campsites. The game viewing area is a short drive away.

We arrived on Sunday and stayed over at Ngata Safari Lodge. We slept in tent with all things we would expect in the bush and no TV. Dinner was great and watched the camp fire in the boma and listening to the lions roar. Early morning rise, breakfast and off into the game reserve. Saw elephant, giraffe, eland, gnu, tsebebe,...
