Spent a great morning here, the staff were very helpful. Tonnes of stuff to do. 3 year old particularly enjoyed the sensory area and musical trail. We were there slightly off season so some of the things mentioned in the other reviews were not open but that didn’t really matter as the games kept everyone entertained.

My Family and I were staying in Saint-Just-Luzac and wanted something fun to do. As being English it was hard to find a historical place that my daughter would understand. Château fort was incredible full of fun games and History there were three treasure hunts a children’s one ( in French) an adult’s one also in french and a English one for Kids and adult’s . We did the French Kid and adult one with a reasonable knowledge of French (and google) .They have different birds and goats and sensory fun (on the kids trail) .This fort has a shop and a lunch bar unfortunately the service closes at 2:00 at the lunch bar and because we were in France we were used to going to bed later getting up later and having lunch later so we missed lunch. There is also an epic Trebuchet which they launch into the moat . With google translate and a good knowledge of French we had fun learned history and had a great experience I would definitely recommend it to everyone 🙂.

We visited as family (grandparents, parents and two youngsters boy aged 3 and girl aged 8) and had a really great time. The kids dressed up in knights tabards and helmets. There was a castle plus a motte and Bailey to explore plus a whole range of games, challenges and quizzes which kept the kids fully occupied and amused. A well thought out and well presented attraction well worth a visit and good value for money.

We’ve just spent a fabulous day here! We have kids aged 4 and 6 and they loved it. You get to dress up, kids and adults, loads of things to do and the quiz that you take is excellent. We spent 4 hours there. I would recommend taking a picnic though as the food was basic. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone! Great day!

Part of the the local history. A stunning building and easy to find in the city of Rochefort. Striking in appearance and well reserved. A real feature for the place. Well worth visiting.

A lot of effort has gone into making this a fun and educational day out. Not only do you have a castle with a moat but also you get to dress up and take part in lots of activities from the middle ages. We really enjoyed the trebuchet show even though the kids didn't understand a word as it was in French.

Having the opportunity to dress up like a knave, lady or lord complete with wooden sword and shield, even if you're an adult, sets the mood for a fun visit.

Activites are held throughout the day such as stories about the history of the castle with audeince participation and our favourite the demonstration of a trebuchet which fired a plastic ball at the castle walls. The demos and stories are done in French so if you're language skills are rusty or you have young kids with you it may be hard to follow.

Otherwise, there are many activites for kids to get involved in from archery, skittles, hook the duck, 'textured' pathways to walk down, a recreated peasent hovel and motte and bailey castle among others.

We spent about 3 hours here.

A great morning or afternoon out in the open air. Brilliant castle, well renovated. Extremely educational and yet not boring!
