Fairly easy to find if you follow the signs carefully, although the last 3km of road is unmade it is passable for most cars. There is a small car park and the tree is immediately adjacent and surrounded by a rope barrier. On the way...More

The approach road is a bumpy track that brings you to a small car park. People arrive, take a photo of a roped off tree, get back in their car and drive off....madness! It will have most likely taken you an hour to drive there,...More

These trees are really worth a look but don't expect a visitors centre or even any evidence of the site being cared for or new trees cultivated. There is nothing there, just a few really amazing trees that have been distorted by the continuous wind...More

The road changes to a dirt track down to the Juniper trees but its definitely worth the drive. Stunning scenery, quiet and a lovely place to sit, reflect and enjoy the peace and tranquility. Well worth a visit.

Yes its a tree - but historic and quite a unique emblem of El Hierro. Best to walk here as part of a walking holiday -we did ours with Inntravel

Landscapes on El Hierro are exceptional: they are way more 'rough' than La Palma or Tenerife. El Sabinar evidences that perfectly. Juniper trees unimaginably twisted by strong winds create a unique view: you just stand there and admire the force of nature.

A spread out group of old looking Cupressus trees heavily sculpted by the wind. You can walk from the Ermita de la Virgen or walk. Be warned the walk is just over 3 hours round-trip and very windy. Probably not worth it if foggy (which...More

This is a wonderfully wild and atmospheric place, away from any constructions. The views over the Atlantic are breathtaking but it is the photogenic juniper trees twisted by the strong winds which steal the show. Cameras are essential to capture this wild place.

You need to drive about 5 km on a dirt road with a pretty good surface (at least when we visited in February). There is are several trails, not all that well marked that take you by many of these twisted and "blown over" juniper...More
