Very unique place, definitely worth seeing as everything else at El Hierro, special energy, peaceful and quiet.

a bended tree
Mar 2021
Not sure how this tree became so famous... it's, literally, a bended tree in the middle of other tons of (bended or not) trees!

It is a wind blown tree like a lot of others around the island
Dec 2019
Its quite a bit of a trek to get here and whilst some people are professing to walk here be aware that it would be a hell of a walk over poor, dusty, hot, uneven ground where you will be a long way from anywhere or anything (don't expect toilets etc) and make sure you bring plenty water.
I traveled by car and even then it was a lengthy journey culminating in a bit of a "so what".
Yes beautiful views and a wind blown tree, the likes of which are available all over the island without traversing a few miles of dirt track, I certainly wouldn't pay for a tour to go there, I most definitely didn't consider the journey to be worth the experience.

Amazing nature, very remote place

it takes time to arrive to this place, but is so amazing! The wind shaped the trees like sculptures and the ocean makes the atmosphere surreal

Beautiful views

Bit of a bumpy ride to get there. Worth taking a walk along the footpath towards El Golfo to find other trees and get a good view. About 300/400 m away a semi circular wall with seats built into it, provide a good vantage point to look out from

The Hoya del Pino forest is a must. Beautifully kept. Area for picnics and bathrooms. Fantastic walks.

A mist see
Mar 2019 • Friends
An absolute must see on El Hierro. Quite easily accessible if you have a car, otherwise you need to join or order an excursion, as buses do not go there. You can perhaps walk from a nearby village, I just cannot advise on this as I did not do this myself. These juniper trees crooked by the wind just must be seen and touched to be appreciated, they are really special. The whole landscape lowering down to the ocean is unique.

Explore the surroundings
Jun 2018 • Couples
The approach road is a bumpy track that brings you to a small car park. People arrive, take a photo of a roped off tree, get back in their car and drive off....madness! It will have most likely taken you an hour to drive there, so explore the surroundings, it's stunning. We walked through an open gate (behind and 70yds left of the main tree) and walked for 45 minutes along a well marked path towards the coast. Hundreds of windswept Junipers and just lovely scenery, so take a water bottle and a picnic, enjoy.
