Visited Elvaston on a lovely sunny day with two boys aged 7 and 9, had throughly good time. Although a lot of people were visiting it wasn't crowded as there are so many places to walk and play games. The boys loved climbing the rocks around the gardens, and the low branches of some trees, but their favourite game was... More

Elvaston castle and it's grounds are stunning. £1.20 to park for up to 2 hours which is fantastic value. We walked round the grounds with our dog and had a lovely time. It wasn't too busy and everyone we encountered was pleasant. It's such a shame the castle and out buildings are in a bit of a mess. It needs... More

I have been here many times and will visit many times again. There are so many walks you can do and lots to explore. The gardens are immaculate and a real credit to the team who maintain them. There is a really interesting Facebook page on Elvaston Castle which shares the history of the place with stories and photographs.

We took a stroll here with the dog. What a delightful place !! There are lots of little nooks and crannies. Some great vistas and topiary. Water also which our dog delighted in jumping in and out of ! We had a coffee outside the tea room as it was a lovely day.

Have been visiting Elvaston Castle for years. Although I don't recall when the castle itself was ever actually open to the public. However it is the grounds that really make this place. Fantastic place for small children with lots of exploring to be done around rocks and trees. Play park and a wooden obstacle type course for them also. It... More

This is such a wonderful place to visit. There is so much to explore and discover. With no fixed 'routes' to walk you can simply mosey around as you please. It is mostly pushchair friendly apart from the old tree root or rock sticking up! We spent a good four hours here and could have easily spent longer as we... More
