    Outstanding Museum
Very well maintained, 100K VND per person admission fee is totally worth it. Nice collection of Vietnamese and world ethnological artefacts. The main attraction are the different kinds of full scale Vietnamese houses of different ethnic groups recreated here.

    Great Museum
Really well maintained, 100K VND per person admission fee is completely worthwhile. Great group of Vietnamese and world ethnological artifacts. The primary appeal is definitely the various types of full scale Vietnamese houses of many cultural groups recreated here.

The VIP tickets had been worthwhile in a couple of rows. You will find 3 price categories based on just how near the front side you sit. We paid additional to sit down on the front row and Im happy we did. A beautiful small story all completed in Vietnamese with standard songs, musical instruments, and a few rather amazing puppets. the car seats had been comfortable and additionally the theatre was comfortably cool. It was neither too loud or insanely dark in the theatre therefore pleasant. It was pleasant to see old Vietnamese tradition also I'd certainly suggest it for almost all.

    Closed for coronavirus
We did what checks we could to ensure this museum would be open except phoning them. We should have, as the open & staffed office informed us the museum was closed for the foreseeable future while concerns about the emerging coronavirus were dealt with. While we were learning this, another three travellers arrived in two taxis. Fortunately the museum shop was open (gotta love small business!) and we picked up some nice pieces to take back to Australia but basically a wasted trip.

Great information and exhibits of the different enthic groups in Vietnam!
I particularly enjoyed the exhibits and information of the myriad enthic groups in Vietnam. Prior to my visit, I didn’t know that they are so many diverse enthic groups in Vietnam and getting more of their way of life was a great gain from the museum. Do spend some time to slowly immerse culturally in the architectural garden where they had laboriously built with the help from the different enthic groups for their respective houses. Some of the houses in the architectural garden do not allow footwear inside; thus, you might want to consider wearing suitable footwear to remove it easily. There is also another option that I noticed that some houses provided shoes covers for you to slip on when you want to enter the houses without removing your shoes. Helpful tip, if you are taking grab there, do ensure that the correct address is “Vietnam Museum of Ethnology” and not “Vietnam Museum of Ethnology - Le Duan.” “Vietnam Museum of Ethnology - Le Duan” is the wrong address to the museum! Recommended time to spend there between 2hours to 3 hours.

Worth a visit - interesting information on the people of Vietnam
I stopped here during my stay in Hanoi and learned quite a bit about the different groups of people that live in Vietnam. Since I didn't have time to visit all of these areas, learning about the people in this way and seeing something of how they live was very interesting. There is an outside section that has different types of dwellings that are used by the different groups. You could walk inside and get a sense of what they were like. Inside, displays showed traditional costumes and other aspects. Explanations were in the English. I would recommend going if you have time.

    Unique Cultural Experience in Hanoi
I came across the theatre after taking a stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and then chosen to buy tickets for an afternoon show. We weren't dissatisfied with warm water puppet show that demonstrated a complicated balance of Vietnamese culture, songs along with masterful choreographed puppetry as it re enacted the story of The Legend of the Returned Sword. The show was about one hour long and worth the ticket. Better to take a light jacket as it is able to get yourself somewhat cool in the theatre A must see if you're in Hanoi

Small but interesting museum highlighting the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam
The museum has several authentic structures that were disassembled and reconstructed on site to show the actual houses used by different ethnic groups. The building has artifacts and information about the peoples of Vietnam. If you are not interested in learning about different cultures, this museum will not be engaging for you. We were there with a guide who was able to tell us about each structure. We encountered a delightful local elementary class who were very interested in engaging discussion with us to practice their English.

The music was stunning, so the experience memorable. I ought to say that we really liked the entire show, even the teenage son of mine. The music was gorgeous which made us love the magnificence of warm water puppet shows and the accounts they related.
I was astonished and would suggest any individual see the magic show and will remember it.

We visited this museum as part of our Hanoi Day Tour and it was a wonderful museum. The inside of the museum was very informative about the ethnic tribes living in Vietnam. The outside was filled with beautiful stilt houses built by those tribes. This was an informative and manageable museum.

Interesting look into the history of the 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. Great representation of architectural styles in a variety of structures located outside, along the lush walking path through history. The interior exhibition hall offers objects on exhibit from various Vietnamese ethnic groups. There is a nice sit-down restaurant on site as well as a gift shop with well-crafted items for purchase. Interesting and very well presented.
